Ive been alot of chinese places but uncle wongs is the best kept secret of marsellies, IL they have some of the best Chinese food you'll ever have in your life! Of all the other Chinese places i have been none have ever tasted as good as uncle wongs. My wife and I got two different chicken dishes their orange chicken + General Tso's and a appetizer of crab Rangoon. To start the food portions were very generous for the price , the quality of the food was great , the plating presentation was very nice , the chicken was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp breading covered in a generous amount of flavorful sauce, the general tso's sauce and the orange chicken sauce were full of flavor and balanced perfectly while being very appeasing for the taste buds, the fried rice was cooked perfectly while having a nice depth of flavor especially how they finished with soy sauce giving that perfect umami flavor and finally the crab Rangoon texture was amazing with a crispy outside and a very nice creamy flavorful filling with a sweet and sour sauce on the side absolutely...
Read moreI've gone here twice. The first time I got steamed dumplings in my order, and the dipping sauce tasted like vinegar. I must've forgotten yesterday because I went again. I ordered cashew chicken, shrimp fried rice, and seafood soup. All sub-par. The soup had 3 tiny shrimp, a TON of shredded carrots, some big pieces of Napa cabbage, and some tiny pieces of imitation crab/lobster. It was disappointing. The fried rice had really big pieces of scrambled egg and hardly any shrimp. And the cashew chicken had way too many dice carrots, all undercooked and crunchy. Everything was dark brown - the cashew chicken as well as the fried rice. The only redeeming things about the meal was that there was a lot of it, and it didn't cost much. I live in Marseilles, so the location is very convenient, but honestly, unless there's a blizzard, I'll probably go to Ottawa when I want Chinese food from now on. I wanted it to work out, but I'm not counting on...
Read moreUgh. I really want to like it here but I just can't. :( Their portion sizes are really large, the veggies were super fresh, but the soup was tasteless and the sauce for their general tso chicken tastes like they mixed teryaki sauce with ketchup. There's no heat or flavor, the breading for the general tso is so dense, it's like rubber when you reheat it. Compared to other Chinese places in this immediate area though, this is one of the better ones. The woman handling the orders is very sweet and polite. 3 stars for that and fresh veggies. Maybe because it was close to closing? I'll give it one more...
