When I go to new coffee shops I have a test that I perform. A vanilla iced coffee with cream and sugar. I use this test every time I find a spot I'm interested in, and if they pass, I come back.
I didn't even have to taste the coffee to know they passed.
+Asked if Half and Half cream was okay or if I wanted Whole Cream.
+Asked how many sugar packets.
+Properly stirred the coffee so the sugar didn't sit on the bottom (a huge personal gripe when this isn't done).
+Was expressive and engaging the whole time, barista really made me feel welcomed.
+The taste was great, full boddied and rich, the coffee blend used was fresh and well kept. You'd be surprised at how many coffee shops use days old coffee for their iced coffee, and this didn't taste like that. It wasn't flat or missing a profile.
The environment was warm, clean, had a lot of places to sit and relax or work on college work/writing. Immediately knew I'd be coming back to write there someday soon. Likely often. Plenty of space, plenty of options for food and drink, and overall just an inviting and unique part...
Read moreI just left the Gypsy Queen with multiple separate orders for co-workers all with different transactions and methods of payment. I do not know the names of the girls working today, but the service was absolutely incredible. They were so patient, even though it would have been a frustrating thing for any average person working. They even made it easy for me to separate the change for each person by putting the change for cash transactions in little paper bags - which was just one of those little things that goes a long way. They never once made me feel like I was being complicated or that they weren't happy to provide me with service. They did all of this with a smile on their face and went above and beyond to make this experience great and easy to deliver to my friends. Also, the coffee was amazing. Great quality and made well with the right proportion of coffee to milk to sweetness. Thank you for making my first experience at the Gypsy Queen amazing! Will be back...
Read moreNice atmosphere. This is a nice place to sit and relax.
I purchased a large Mocha with extra shot. I was charged almost $8 for this drink. Holy Cow! Too expensive, better options for less in town. I would provide a better rating if the price wasn’t so high. Other coffee shops are less expensive and better tasting for same thing.
Had to wait a little while, only one other person in front of me, maybe a total of less than 10 minutes of waiting in line, order, and receiving my mocha.
Street parking is all that is available. I had to park and walk 1/2 block. Not really too bad.
In all, what I would expect to be a 10 minute stop was around...
