Chef King — Restaurant in Marshalltown

The waitress was so nice she helped my 2 year old daughter take her coat off put her in the high chair and when she brought her drink she even put the straw in the cup. She would check on us to make sure we didn't need any more to drink and to get our dirty plates. The food was nice and warm and was stocked up. We didnt have to wait for anything. She even got my daughter an ice cream cone (I put some ice cream in a bowl and she wouldnt eat it). She ecan came up to my daughter and was playing with her. All in all this is a great place to go eat! I've eaten at this restaurant before and NEVER had this kind of service i had today! Keep up...

Excellent buffet for. Breaded sweet shrimp of some kind was awesome. The crab and shrimp with broccoli was also fantastic. Lots of options in American food and Chinese. Ice cream machine was a hit with the kids. Groups of 9 or more are charged 10% gratuity but they were kind enough to let us split our group in two so we didnt have to pay it. Very good service. Could be easily confused with another Chinese restaurant like two doors down. There is not really a name on the sign that i saw so if you are meeting someone be sure to clarify which Chinese...

I hate to give poor reviews but here I go. I love trying new places and of course frequenting favorites. We ordered takeout here. They were prompt. A for effort. But the food was dull. And dry and really bland. I come from a major city where the competition is fierce and where one of my favorite Asian places had been established for many, many years so that's a pretty high bar. But I gotta say these guys have a ways to go before they can even reach the mediocre bar. Yikes, there, I said it. Chef King you gotta get jazzier and be more generous...
