Ocean House Coastal Grille — Restaurant in Marshfield

I can be a terrible critic when going out, most everything is meh these days, but Ocean House really stands out as excellent, far exceeding my expectations! We ordered the GF shrimp and crab dip and it came out and it had batter fried shrimp that were crispy and fresh and we weren't sure it was actually gluten free at first, but assured they even are fried in an oil that is kept gluten free! Our main dishes were the salmon power bowls, a spinach salad and kid's fish and chips. The vegetables all tasted fresh and seemed made to order, not one off bite. The salad was dressed perfectly with a light lemon dressing. The salmon was in bite sized pieces, perfectly cooked and brown and crispy! I can't stand over cooked salmon and this was tender and delicious. They must have broiled it to get it so perfect. The fish and chips were also really good, the fish crispy and hot when it came out, the fries were hot too, though could have been a bit more brown- they were pale, but tasted great and were crisp. Wow. Just wow. Decided to try this place out after reading the great reviews, I wish I did not. We decided to order the charcuterie board to start, we asked for no olives on the board. Maybe this seemed like a trivial request to the restaurant but my non verbal son with sensory issues has visceral reactions if unwanted foods are touching his meal. The board arrived and there were olives on it, that’s no problem mistakes happen. So we kindly let the server know that we would ordered it without olives and due to my sons severe sensory issues we would need it to be entirely remade. The server said that was no problem but shortly after she left the table her manager, Amber, came over. She told us that they could give us a new charcuterie board app but we would be paying for both of them. She explained that the restaurant shouldn’t be losing money over my sons preferences. Had she have said it kindly there wouldn’t have even been an issue from my end but Amber displayed a complete lack of human empathy....
