I would give it zero stars if this were an option.
I understand a lot of restaurants are under-staffed, and I do try not to be an ahole, but the bad service here pre-dates Covid and is not experienced at other places around town. I've been 3 times since moving to Martinsville 3 years ago. One time the service was fine. Twice I've walked out. That happens when your customer sits at the bar, attempts to make eye contact with one of the three bartenders for 10 minutes, then verbally tries to get the attention of a bartender for another 10 minutes. Finally do. Ask for a water and a margarita. Long story short, 45 minutes later, nothing. Not even the water. I watched a guy at the end of the bar get 3 beers in that time. The couple next to us ordered and ate an app in that time. We ordered, waiting, nothing. Then we'd get a bartender ask us what we wanted. So we ordered again, waited, nothing. Repeat this two more times. Then, we walked out. My friend said, "I'd say that was the worst service I've ever had, but it was actually NO service."
It's weird, everyone in this town has their fave Mexican place, and I know people who rave about La Herradura, but I've NEVER seen a glimpse of anything other than substandard service. I was there last Friday as my friend was there and invited me. As we walked out, I said, "And THAT is exactly why I prefer Los Reyes." Try this place at your own peril. Food is fine, but you be waiting awhile,...
Read moreWorst experience. I know they were busy, but first red flag should have been standing waiting for 5 minutes to get a table without a single staff member even recognizing you are standing there, 2 of them working the station. Next we had to ask a guy if he was our server to order drinks and our food, this after the table sat after us (right next to us) got drinks and food ordered. Then after almost 45 minutes of waiting, chips gone and my drink had been empty for 20 minutes, and no food in sight (table next to us had food and almost finished) and not one single staff member checking on us, I told my wife to get up and let’s go. Almost an hour wasted, it’s to bad too because what we could see of others food it looked good. Won’t ever go back, went into downtown to Los Reyes, who is also busy, got acknowledged right away, seated and our server was prompt to get drinks and return...
Read moreThis is the best Mexican Food in Morgan County! Located at the end of a strip mall on Grand Valley Boulevard, La Herradura Grill and Bar will surprise you with an extensive, delicious menu. You will not leave hungry!!! The Fresh Guacamole is in my all-time top 3! Whether you want a fajita-style grilled meal, or want it fried-and-drenched-in-queso, you will get the best! TVs are located for easy viewing but are also easily ignored. There is plenty of parking, including handicapped spaces, and both booths and tables are comfortable. Truly this is an all-around delicious family dinner, date night, or lunch destination. Or go with friends! You...
