This place is a hidden gem! Today was the 2nd time we’ve been here and it was just as good as the first time. It’s a little bit of a drive for us (St. Charles county), but definitely worth it! However, we didn’t know that they don’t start baking until the open time so plan to show up about 20-30 mins after they open if you want fresh hot breads and pastries. While waiting for the breads, I tried a strawberry fruit milk with honey boba. It was a refreshing smoothie and the boba was a good consistency. When the breads started coming out, it was a little crazy (the owner said they weren’t expecting so many people today). I came back today for the chocolate cherry bread (made French toast with it last time and it was amazing
might try a bread pudding with it this time). Apparently, this is the sought after bread because there were several people hoping to grab some too. We also tried a few new things (crispy orange buns, red bean buns, milk buns, and egg tarts) and were not disappointed! The crispy orange buns are like a croissant and orange sticky bun combined (this was a personal favorite). The red bean and milk buns have more of a subtle sweetness, but both are very delicious and very filling. Finally, the egg tarts are flaky croissant like dough filled with a sweet vanilla warm custard that is very decadent. Overall, very pleased with our choices this time and can’t wait to go back to try other things.

The female owner is the most disrespectful person I’ve ever met. I told the male owner that “I just want to let you know that your wife is kinda rude, Just FYI.” very politely after HE first asked how our experience was today. Literally I was just asking her if they would have more of those bread. The female owner seemed to be very irritable and asked in an extremely angry tone: “MORE WHAT?!” Apparently I was referring to the bread with hands pointing at the shelf and I was just asking in general if more of those bread will come soon so I will wait to shop. Her husband, however, after talking to her, explained that she was irritated because she is pregnant and I (as a customer) ought to be more specific about which KIND of bread (like taro bread or red bean bread), otherwise his wife HAS to be that snarky to clarify my question. It was totally my(the customer’s) fault. Excuse me? And this was even BEFORE I explained what happened to him. So apparently she told him why I would say she was rude. So she KNOWS that she was being unreasonable and people WILL complain. She couldn’t have asked politely “which ones are you looking for?” as a normal not-crazy person??

Actually we are treated horribly almost every time we come to the store by the female owner. It feels like we are begging to spend there. And I don’t think it is a good reason to give people snarky looks even when you are pregnant.

More crazy guys, see, after we talked about it in the store, he ran out of the door to my car and made me open my window and to continue the “conversation”. My friend who is also pregnant was sitting next to me, so shocked! Apparently he thinks I probably need to apologize to her rude wife for my lack of understanding that pregnant person is free to be rude.

And he said that it’s also because they are too busy and that “you need to understand. And you will understand if you work in a business like we do.” Ok could that become a reason this couple are gaslighting and making customers think they are just some id**ts who can’t eat bread anywhere else? I just want to say, sorry that too many people are visiting the store now. I hope the bakery will be closed soon to ease some of your anxiety. I would give 0 star if I could. Seriously guys. Don’t ever come to this place. Maybe you will have better luck if you are also pregnant???. That way you can yell back the same way she will do to you???.

BTW, this owner replied to many people under the reviews that they are attentive and try their best to welcome the customers. Apparently somebody is delusional! Many of my friends would say they were treated horribly at this place....

The name says Bakery but OH IT IS SO MUCH MORE! The soups are delicious like WHOA! Who thought to do this? Chicken Pot Pie soup that has actual pieces of crust in it!!! YUM! All of the Foundry’s soups are YUMMY, Chicken Tortilla, Clam Chowder, Chili, Vegetable Beef, Minestrone... the list goes on! Their sandwiches with their local chutney will keep you coming back. On to the Baked goods -all kinds of yummy cookies, apple fritters mmm mmm good! If you get there in time to get a one warm watch out! You will be timing it for warm ones every morning. They melt in your mouth. I say this as I’m chewing on a not warm one and there are NO complaints. The danishes with fresh berries, all your regular assorted donuts are there and also yummy. Yes, I always have to try new additions to the donut case since this is where I get my coffee every morning. They also have one of the most unique and delicious breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. One of a kind and a must have (better than you know who). Bumpy Cake. Yes Bumpy Cake. If you like chocolate cake, ganache, and whipped cream then this is my- I mean the cake you have to try. I buy in bulk now to insure I have enough ALWAYS!! Seriously it’s that good. Way better than a ho-ho or any other pre -packaged dessert. Last but not least bread. Paige makes some downright delicious bread. My favorite being seed bread. Hearty and a bit sweet, great for sandwiches and toast. If you’re like me I just tear off a chunk and eat it. It’s that good, no butter, no anything. I mentioned I get my coffee at the Foundry Bakehouse and Deli every morning. Their coffee, 2 choices- house blend which is the Foundry Blend and Fuzzy Sweater. Both are roasted locally - in Marshall. Definitely worth trying!! If you’re in Albion you have to swing by for a treat or lunch. The staff is beyond words the best and in all ways you will not be...

Update: I'm not going to continue responding to this business owner's incredulous responses, now twisting the truth, and his gaslighting. All the original screenshots are uploaded on Yelp and my ig under story highlights "Bad Business".

And there's a reason why I'm not the one who's being bombarded with negative public response right now instead of this business, but I'm sure the owner is going to justify again how the public can't see clearly or something. I have also filed with BBB.

Quick Google - Doxxing is the search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the internet, typically with malicious intent... The business owner published my full name from my credit card, in his scathing original public response on Yelp, painting a very negative character of me all over a quick 3 star review. This is doxxing. ... Out of more than a decade of writing reviews and sharing thoughts about food and services to friends, I have never dealt with a business that left me in shock with the incredibly unprofessional and ungraceful manner with which they responded to my simple personal opinions about their product.

The owner Raymond Y, took to both Instagram and Yelp, using information gathered from my credit card to publicly shame me, all because I left the business a lukewarm three-star Yelp review, now updating to one, and an Instagram story where I actually complimented their baked goods but not a beverage. See full account on insta tiantianeats

Apparently the owner has contact-harassed other customers, and disrespected others who left low reviews. You can sort by lowest reviews on both Yelp and Google to see. My screenshots are uploaded here as well on their Yelp...
