I ordered 2 dozen donuts online and each box was missing 4 twists from each box. I discovered it once I was at work putting everything out for our meeting. Since I was short 8 donuts, I had to go to our cafeteria and purchase $15.00 of additional breakfast items and rush back to my meeting. I asked a co-worker to call Tony’s to let them know I was short donuts. They offered for me to come back to the store, but that wasn’t possible and she asked for a refund. They said they would call me back, but on the 2nd day, I called to speak to the manager. A man came to the phone and asked I was talking saying I was short 8 donuts, he cut me off saying no I wasn’t. I said yes, I was. He retorted that I’d better check with my people because someone on my end ate 8 donuts. I explained that from the car to the meeting room, I was with the donuts the entire way. He then said “we don’t do that- who was the person who waited on you- man or woman - young or old”. All very aggressively. I was so flustered by then, I asked “who am I speaking with? He replied, I’m the owner and I do t know you. You’re calling me talking about missing donuts and I I don’t know you. If you want a refund, you’ll have to come back in with your receipt. I retorted, this is ridiculous- are you going to pay for my gas to come back there? He screamed, I don’t know you and started ranting and raving saying he doesn’t know me . I could be anyone, etc. I drove back to the restaurant after work the next day to get my company’s refund. I came in with my receipt, asked for the owner and was told he wasn’t there. I stated that I was attempting to get a refund for 8 donuts that were missing from my order. The very pleasant and professional worker took my receipt and noticed marks my each of the twists orders. He said, oh, yes, I remember, the machine went down on this day and time that you were in and someone probably forgot to give you something else. He went and called someone on the phone and came back and said your refund will be issued to the card you gave us online. So it wasn’t necessary that I drive back out there, as they had all the information online that they could see. I told him to relay a message to the owner that I was upset and appalled with his accusations and rude behavior and would like an apology from him. Of course, I’m still waiting for the apology. Back story: when waking with my friend, I mentioned that I was stopping by Dierbergs in the morning to get donuts for High School interns who were coming in for their orientation. She said, you should go to Tony’s. . I said, well I’ll have to try them first, so we drove over from Creve Couer where we walk to give it a try. The donuts looked so good and smelled so fresh that I bought 2 and was very impressed. Nice friendly staff and delicious donuts. So I drove out of my way from St. Charles, Mo to work to pick up my online order. I didn’t charge gas mileage to my company. Since it was my treat to the interns instead of getting something from en route. I will NEVER sep foot in Tony’s because of the disgusting and unbelievable behavior from the owner. I looked at one of his videos and he talked about needing to trust his employees. Obviously, trust is something he has not gotten peace with. The dialogue between him and me is still unbelievable and the fact that after they realized the error was theirs, the decent thing to do would have been to say one of the dozen is on us and we’ll credit you for 12 donuts instead of 8 for your inconvenience OR while I was there in person waiting for the phone interaction and credit to be issued, they could have offered my friend and I a complimentary donut while we waited. If I can come up with what good customer service looks like, it’s a shame that the owner can’t or won’t. Instead of telling people how delicious Tony’s donuts are, my only telling will be how disgraceful the owner spoke to me and to please don’t give him...
Read moreok Lets really talk about the new 11525 Dorsett Maryland Height, MO location. THE LOOK: First the inside looks very nice , plenty of seating available, and the pastry display also looked clean and everything looked freshly made.
THE TASTE: - HORRIBLE - I got a lemon, and a cream cheese danish! No matter how good the pastries looked the taste was like cheap wet cooked soft sweet dough. If you ever wanted something sweet and was desperate enough to get it from a grocery store that is exactly what it tasted like. CHEAP, NOT FRESH, & EVEN THE FILLING WAS VERY CHEAP TASTING! (LEMON & CREAM CHEESE FILLING! ) . I WAS VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE TASTE!
THE SERVICE: NOT GOOD! The employee who seemed like she had something more important to do besides take my order! As I looked and was thinking about what I wanted.I asked her questions about the pastries yet she was just rude! She said to me ," Do you know how many donuts you want?" I thought no and why is that a question to ask a FIRST TIME or REGULAR...
Read moreI don’t like to complain or leave bad reviews but this location just has some things to work on imo. First I will say the drive thru is kind of a stressful experience at times! It takes forever, and the way they take orders makes it so that if you want to change something or add an extra sandwich, staff get annoyed. My boyfriend ordered sandwiches for us, then gave the rest of the order. But my mom called and wanted two more sandwiches and the girl said with an attitude that next time, she needs to know all the sandwiches before everything else. Of course some people are going to want to change something or add an extra sandwich, and the staff need to learn how to adapt to that! The order wasn’t even fully completed or paid for, and as someone who also works food service, I see no problem in customers changing something before it’s fully placed. One more thing- I always pay for extra cream cheese with bagels but I only actually receive the extra cream cheese about 70%...
