Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Maryland

We went to Applebee's last night for dinner, it was a little later in the evening but we got there well before closing. As soon as we walked through the door we got seated, it was not busy at all. We waited a little over 10 minutes for our server to come over to us. Given he is new, I understand that. We put in our drink order and sat waiting for it, we arrived at 8:37 we were sitting for about 30minutes no drinks and he came back to take our order again drink less. We gave our order he had to come back a few times but again new wasn't going to let it get to me. What was unacceptable is the amount of time we waited to get drinks, food and all. They actual brought us out a second appetizer I guess hoping that would sate us. We asked to speak to manager and for some reason the host came over to talk to us. We thought he was like a supervisor or something, nope just a host making excuses for the server who obviously had little to no training. He first brought out my food, a few minutes later my sons, and then my husbands and other sons. My food was ok, but my potatoes were ice cold in the center of them. My husbands food was so bland. It was supposed to be a 3 cheese sauce and it had no taste at all. At this point I asked to speak to the manager again because I was irritated. Then the actual manager comes out and we talk to her. She admitted the dish my husband got is bland and she personally does not think its good. She apologized for our experience, and was very shocked that she wasn't told sooner about what we were going through. We said we thought the guy over there who seated us was a manager she said no. So instead of us getting an actual manager the first time the host was trying to I don't know talk up his friend. The whole experience was just ridiculous the only things we took home were our kids food, which really a corndog and three mozzarella sticks is almost 7 dollars come on. We got our check and paid. Even though it was terrible we still tipped the server 20% because we understand servers work for tips, my family is in the service industry. We will not be back ever.

Also the only laugh we got out of it, is that our spinach and artichoke dip was served with Marinara...

My family and I was served by a great waitress named Hannah. At the end of the meal, I was escorted out to my car by my son because I am on crutches. When my son returned to get my milkshake that we couldn't grab due to the circumstances, they had already cleared the table of my milkshake, my mom's milkshake and my future daughter in-law's milkshake and our drinks to go and my mother told the manager, Melissa, that they cleared the table prematurely and she got hostile towards my mother and accused her of lying. My mother then showed her the receipt and asked Hannah to verify the fact that she wasn't lying. Melissa then began to argue further that there was only one milkshake instead of 3. Melissa denied that there were sodas inside of our cups. My mother explained that we poured our own sodas into the cups so that could not have been true. Melissa huffed and puffed and said that she was only making the milkshakes and will not replace our sodas. I was told about what happened as soon as my mother arrived at my home and I called to get the corporate phone number and Melissa argued with me and asked if I wanted to come back for the drinks when all that she had to do in the first place was give us our drinks before we left. Then Melissa left me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back to give me the number to the corporate office. She was very unprofessional and rude. I will not return to that Applebees until Melissa is no longer a manager there. Hannah was very professional and courteous on the other hand. She is the reason that our night wasn't...

Me my husband my daughter and 2 of our friends went to this restaurant and after 3-5 mins of getting sat our server came out, my friend was looking at the menu and she couldn’t reach over him to put a napkin down so she yelled “EXCUSE ME” well we ignored that... we then began to order our drinks we all ordered 3 alcoholic drinks and she was VERY RUDE asking for our IDs, she looked at mine and my husbands and handed them back and when my friend gave her his she THREW IT back at him. She then went into the back and about 5 minuets later a wonderful server named ROSEMARY came out and said that the 1st server was “sick” we seen her serving about 2 or 3 tables when we was told she was “sick” we ask rosemary if we could speak to a manager and when the manager came out she was DEFENDING the 1st server saying she doesn’t believe that she did anything wrong blah blah blah when she walked away we then seen the manager laughing while “having a talk” with the 1st girl... after we left we went to Walmart and guess what the SICK server pulled in the parking space in front of us and she didn’t seem to sick to me as she was talking about me my CHILD MY HUSBAND AND BEST FRIENDS OVER THE PHONE.
