Stay away from this hotel!! I have been a rewards member at the Holiday Inn for several years NEVER AGAIN!! I had family in town who came to visit my little boy for his birthday. Not more than 10 cousins. AURIA the receptionist placed words in my mouth stating herself I was having a party and it wasnt allowed. That was inaccurate, it was never said as i told her it was my family. She told me and my guests we have to evacuate the pool immediately! Not doing anything wrong, no food, no drink, nothing just family enjoying one another. But hey, no problem, I agreed. I am not one to argue. I informed her I would be taking them up for food before they leave. She tried to stop me from going to my room in front of my family calling me to come over from the elevator. When this failed, she came knocking on my room door and wrongfully accused me of not being a REGISTERED GUESTS HERE. She suggested I breached security, I breached security by allowing guests into the pool area and said i was not registered to the room and even had the audacity to ask me for my ID as if she was law enforcement! She proceeded to embarrass me in front of my family and stated to me that no one was registered to that room!! I told her I provided my ID and credit card upon check in and I would not be providing it again. She proceeded to have a nasty attitude with me, told me she would be telling her manager and walked off. After my family left I went downstairs and asked her why she would erroneously accuse me of not being a registered guest. She stated there was a glitch in the system but somehow after I told her my name she was able to find me. She apologized for the " miscommunication " but never apologized for her actions or for ruining my sons birthday or for her false alligations basically calling me a thief as if i stole the room. She continued to make ridiculous facial expressions and roll her eyes at me. I have nver been treated so poorly by a hotel staff member. And to think about all the money I have spent at Holiday Inns to be treated like such TRASH. She said I can contact her GM on Monday, (there is no decision making manager to contact on weekends) which it appears you read this too- so just know I will be contacting corporate and there...
Read moreHotel was fairly new so pretty much everything was clean and functioned well. We stayed for 1 night after a family event in the ballroom. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient with check in and check out.
King bed and pillows were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in the room to move around. The mini Keurig brewer in the room was a pleasant surprise and was more convenient than the usual pouch brewers.
At bedtime we could hear noise coming through the vent. We initially thought the voices were from the hallway but they occurred for some time and there would be no one outside when we checked. My husband discovered the source when he went near the vent. We eventually recognized the voices as belonging to our friends who had the room above us and were having a little after party. Since they were our friends and the noise was tolerable, it wasn't a big deal and we didn't report the matter to the staff.
Bathroom amenities were Bath and Body Works brand and they served well enough. The shower was the soft rainfall type which made showering take a little longer than usual because the gentle pressure couldn't wash off the lather quickly. We like a strong shower but couldn't find where to adjust the pressure.
Breakfast included hot items such as thin pancakes, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs, plus cold items such as breads, yogurt, etc. The pancakes and eggs were very bland, even with syrup, salt, and pepper. We appreciated the variety of other items. There's a Cracker Barrel in front of the hotel (5-minute walk) if you're wanting more.
Wi-fi is fast and does not cut off after 24 hours. Hotel was set far back from the main road and the area at the back was semi-wooded so there was no traffic noise. Area is well-developed and safe. There are numerous restaurants and stores along the highway.
Though we paid a discounted group rate, the hotel (with its amenities, condition, and location) would still have been a great value had we paid the online rate at the time of booking. We would stay here again if we're...
Read moreWith this hotel being fairly new, the design is modern and comfortable with lots of windows and light.
** FRONT DESK - The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. They seem better trained for customer service than other hotels I have experienced. I do recommended improvement here for a needed addition of automatic emailing of your receipt like other hotels have. I have to request the email every time even though I ask for my profile to be set to email as default. I have not received my email even though I asked for it face-to-face last time.
BED- The guest room bed is great since it is fairly new. The pillows are labeled 'soft' and 'firm', I found that awesome.
TV - The TV is larger than other hotels and newer.
Cable TV offers more options than other hotels from I can see. I like it.
ROOM - The rooms are large and full of light; a large window, great lighting design, and lots of lighting levels. This works for my work time at the room desk with bright light, and when I start to relax with lower soft lighting. The A/C and heat is just like home and works for me like home, minimal noise from the unit. The door peep hole is covered, I like that.
BATHROOM - The bathroom is large with a large counter and has real soap bars for the sink and shower. I like that. Lots of towels are provided, feels like home.
BREAKFAST - I found the breakfast to be nice. Great egg options along with meat choices. They do have oatmeal packets but I would prefer real oatmeal. They do supply nuts and raisins for your oatmeal though,...
