Bagelmeister — Restaurant in Maryland

This was my first time coming here and it will most certainly be my last time thanks to brenna. It’s a really cute shop and I was hoping to get some bagels and was surprised at the assortment of baked goods. After taking a couple minutes to look we were ready to order. After waiting and not seeing anyone behind the counter I leaned over to get someone’s attention to ask where I was to place my order. Brenna irritated answered “at the register” with an eye roll like I was supposed to know. It’s my first time I have no idea. So we get two bagles not toasted or sliced and some cookies. Brenna was not impressed with our order and it was very obvious she did not want to help us. After quickly ordering the kinds of cookies i didn’t ask for the rest of what I wanted because I didn’t want to irritate her more, I really just wanted to leave. Guess what? I was blown away to find out they have "elephant ears" for sale here! They are as big as dinner plates and delicious, made of a light, thin, airy pastry and topped with cinnamon and sugar. What a great dessert after a fresh made sandwich. I had a turkey sandwich made with tomato, lettuce and mayo on toasted honey wheat bread. So good! The menu offers soup, sandwiches, all kinds of bagels and topping combos, cookies and even ice cream. The portions were generous and I brought half of my sandwich home to eat later. The staff is friendly and quick to fill orders. I found myself in Jacksonville, with a couple of hours to kill, and a little hungry. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive mostly due to the shopping center looking run down…as soon as I walked through the door, it was like I entered a scene from a movie. Christmas music playing, employees smiling and greeting every customer, the decorations were fabulous, many delicious treats displayed well in the case. WOW, this little shop in the run down strip mall had it all going on. They took my order with pleasure, I found a spot in the cozy waiting area, and they promptly called me by name to pickup my order.
