BYOC Build Your Own Cookie — Restaurant in Maryland

We stopped by this little place to see what it was all about. The four people I was with all ordered their one cookie, one scoop, and one topping. We each got a warm and soft cookie topped with a nice scoop of ice cream and the toppings we asked for. It’s funny - when a place generally gets good reviews, I like to look at the comments made by people who gave less positive ratings. Some people complained the cookie was soft. I think a soft cookie makes more sense under ice cream. Some people complained it was expensive. It wasn’t. Some people complained it took too long. When we arrived, there was a family of five ordering. It took a few minutes for them to finish placing their orders and a few minutes for the woman behind the counter to make the order and then we ordered ours and waited a few minutes. My sons had a craving for ice cream and although it was a bit on the late side, I gave in and found this little out of the way spot. There was no line and no waiting (largely in part of the time of day) and the counter woman was very friendly. After taking our orders, she put together a well made ice cream treat with a cookie on the bottom (freshly baked to boot). My sons really dug in. I must admit, I kinda went to town on it as well. It wasn't too sweet; which I liked and the cookie was still warm out of the oven. The price wasn't as high as I thought it would be so a plus there. All in all, I was very satisfied.....and so...

Great place for an afternoon snack! The cookies are great, and if you're not a ice cream fan (or need cookies for the road) you can buy just the cookies. You pick a cookie, pick your ice cream flavor (one scoop or two), pick a topping and you're all set. Whipped cream and a cherry too (although you can get it without). You can also have an ice cream cookie sandwich. Not too far of a drive (10-15 minutes) from Assateague National Seashore if you want something different. They also have a location on Chincoteague.
