The tables were full, my wife and I decided to eat at the bar, no problem full menu at the bar, sure! We were approached by Jamie 35 yr veteran in the business the bartender, It all went down hill from here… the bartender Jamie decided he was going to give my wife the red carpet treatment and exclude me. He took her drink order but then insisted on a specialty drink for her instead, he made her drink and literally ignored me all together. Finally got to mine, no big deal. He took our food order, while waiting for our food somehow or another the bartender had to show us this copy of a receipt of a 22k bar tab on his phone at a previous job (you could tell he brags about this all the time he found picture in literally a second) whatever not impressed! Our main entree comes 45 mins later and the bartender comes around the bar to where my wife are I are sitting to replace only my wife’s silverware. Reaching between us to put the knife on table “madam your knife he says” and does the other side with fork “ madam your fork” but has no silverware for me ? He hands mine to me across the bar. The bartender ask if she wants Parmesan cheese and she does as I do as well, he comes back around and puts a nice even coating over her dish then he sloops some on the corner of my oblong dinner plate. My wife and look at each other like what’s this guy’s deal ?
This is what really pushed me to post this review.. I ask for the check when we finished eating, Jamie the bartender gives me the check, I put 2 $100 dollar bills in the check (very clearly you can see there’s 2 $100 bills) and he ask me if I need change on $108.43 bill. Like seriously did you just ask me for a near 100% tip??
Needless to say my first time there and we won’t be going back anytime soon. Food...
Read moreMy family and I decided to get out of the house a bit to try out this new restaurant. My expectations were high since this was new and it took over the 4 Seasons Grill (which we loved)! The moment we walked in we were already let down. The seating coordinators gave us snare looks and attitude since we did not have a reservation (we did not know we needed one. There is a giant sign saying OPEN NOW out front and it was early). They gave us a table in the bar of choice which was fine. I needed to wash my hands before eating so I asked where it was to the girls from the front. They were having a conversation and I must have been rudely interrupting them since I asked 3x and then I got a dead fish wave to the direction of where the bathrooms were at. While walking closer and closer to the very back to the right of this establishment, I start smelling toilet aroma from the bathrooms. It was something really bad and the smell was just leaking into the dining rooms.
At this point I’ve lost my appetite and I’ve already typed up a page of regret from this place before even ordering. Their silverware was dirty (had to send that back), their menus were crumpled and stained, the food runner auctioned off our food and the bread to the table was dry and the balsamic was expired. The only reason why I am even considering a one star to this place was because my server was nice and actually showed he wanted to work there. Plus the Pineapple Tini he made was delicious.
If you all are still reading this lovely post, just know this place is just recycled from the Italian restaurant Carpaccio’s of Annapolis. No new menu, no speciality’s and no hope. I wish them...
Read moreAs a customer of Gilliano's restaurant, I have to say that my experience was nothing short of amazing. The surf and turf (part of Mother's day menu my wife ordered) dish that I ordered was absolutely divine, with the flavors of the sea and the land blending together in perfect harmony. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside that gave it a delightful crunch, while the inside was juicy and tender.
But the real star of the show for me was the truffle gnocchi with seared steak. The gnocchi were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness and a rich, earthy flavor that blended perfectly with the truffle sauce. And the seared steak was the perfect accompaniment, with its deep, beefy flavor complementing the truffle perfectly.
In fact, the entire meal was so delicious that I found myself weeping with joy when it was over. And yet, despite the decadent flavors and luxurious ingredients, the food at Gilliano's is still somehow light and healthy enough that I can indulge in it without worrying about my waistline. It's the reason I keep working out – so I can enjoy this kind of culinary decadence and still see my feet!
Overall, I cannot recommend Gilliano's highly enough. The food is simply incredible, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting (maybe a little noisy at times but I am getting old so take that for what it is worth). Whether you're in the mood for surf and turf, truffle gnocchi, or any other delicious dish, you won't regret dining here. Trust me, it's an experience you'll...
