Glen Echo Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Maryland

Started going here for lunch at the ravings of my coworkers and don't get me wrong the food is excellent, however when i went to pick up my food today (1/11/2021) the woman preparing food was ungloved and UNMASKED. I told the person at the counter that the woman should be wearing a mask just to be told "there's nothing I can do". Yes there is something you can do, hold your coworkers accountable for your own safety and that of your customers. I will not be going back to the lack of care for their customer's well being.

Update: After speaking to the owner about my aforementioned issue, I was assured that this type of thing would not happen again. Fast forward to March (3/12/2021), I walk in and another customer has just come in, no mask at all. When mentioning that a face covering is required BY LAW he claimed he was vaccinated and that legally he is no longer required to wear a mask, which is absolutely false. When I brought the issue to the employees I was told, as I was before “there’s nothing I can do” and by the owner “we can’t control the customers”. Uhhh yes you can control who is allowed in or not. Come to find out it’s a friend of the owner. This place has great food, but they clearly have 0 respect for their patrons. Absolutely disgusting lack of safety and care and no fortitude in the least. They do not honor the Daily Specials advertised on their website. I called in my order, when I picked it up it rang up significantly more expensive than expected. Not apologetic in the least. Lied to my face and claimed it says prices are subject to change. It does not. Check for yourself since they claim they don't know how to update their own website. Apparently they also don't know how to remove posts advertising the same specials from their Facebook page. It honestly wouldn't have been a big deal if the proprietor wasn't such a Karen and looked at me with such contempt. I'm not looking for a handout... BEWARE of potential corona virus exposure if you enter these premises. This is a very tiny space. The customer order line (which occupies a very small area) is only a few feet from the kitchen, which is open and separated from patrons by only a half-barrier. The owner and his wife take orders and work in the tiny kitchen. Neither of them wear masks. The owner's wife today cheerfully volunteered "Oh, you don't have to wear masks here" and invited the patron ahead of me in line to take off his mask.
