Hopper's Tap House — Restaurant in Maryland

If I could give them zero stars I would. Horrible place with incredibly expensive prices and absolutely no respect for customers. I used to live in the Salisbury area and frequent hoppers quite a bit. One evening I walked in and ordered two beers from the waitresses they have walking around in the common area. After waiting for more than 20 minutes I noticed the girl I ordered my drinks from was standing by the bar and flirting with the bartender with my drinks in front of her. I sat there and watched her flirt for another 10 minutes until she finally brought the drinks over. At this point I was already irate that it took 30 minutes for her to bring the drinks, but I let it go.

She came over finally and gave me my beers which at this point were warm. I took one sip of my beer, and no more than 30 seconds after she left the beers on my table I look up and she asks me "Would you like to pay with cash or credit?" I was dumbfounded so I asked her what she meant and she repeated with an attitude "Are you going to pay with cash or credit?" Surprised and disgusting with the horrible customer service I gave her $10 to pay off my $9 bill. Which she quickly snatched out of my hand and said "i'll be back with your change".

I waited for another 30 minutes, watching the NFL draft, and she never returned. At this point I wanted to leave and without ever receiving my change or my receipt I went up to ask for the manager. I once again found the girl flirting with the bartender and asked her if she could get the manager. She said "there is no manager can I help you?" to which I replied "Yes I would really like to talk to the manager." and she insisted "There is no manager if you want something you'll have to tell me". So I asked her first and foremost why she stole my change and never gave me a receipt, and why she pressured me after not even 30 seconds of me receiving my beers to pay. She responded as follows:

Why did you steal my change? "I assumed that was the tip you were giving me." Oh, okay did you ever ask me if that was the tip? "No I just assumed because it was like a dollar you wouldn't care." Oh wow you know that's called stealing right? Which is why I really wanted to talk to your manager. Why didn't you give me a receipt? "I assumed you didn't want one because you paid with cash" Okay but I specifically asked for a receipt, and once again you didn't ask me if I wanted one you just assumed I didn't. No response.

Eventually I got so annoyed with her attitude and the fact she stole from me I told her to keep her dollar and that was the only tip she will ever get from me. I went back to my table and some short pissed off looking ugly white guy came out with a black polo and sat in front of me. He looked at me and said "Hi", to which I replied... "Hi..." He then says "Did you call my waitress disgusting?" I responded with no and asked him what he was talking about, he said he has witnesses saying I called her disgusting and won't point any of them them out or even bother saying who he is or asking what the whole situation was about. I proceeded to ask him if he is the manager and were he was before, as well as why he lets his waitress steal from customers. All of which he ignores and says "You have to leave" and then he literally runs away towards the bar. I laugh it off and figure this crappy place and there horrible service and expensive nasty beers...

IF YOU HAVE OUT OF STATE  DL DON'T COME HERE. As you can see in other post this place is bad with  Id\ driver license. I was in main dinning area not in hoppers tap house when I was approached by a red head employee (as you see in other post) Asking me and my friend if we wanted any to drink mind you were we're waiting on our food from another restaurant located next to them . so I asked for my drink then he ask me what the capital of my state  on my dl was .I went back and Sat down and five minutes later he came back and said my dl was fake. Then he and assuming his manager some lady called us to front say we can't give it back saying it looked fake because lamination was off on dl. They proceeded to then bend my dl. Still not giving it back saying its against the law. Another bartender had real fake id and you could definitely tell the difference Still wouldn't give it back .if you have out of state dl and are over 21 which I am don't come here . I then proceeded to call police and they easily gave It back. You can see they always get busted for under age drinking if you Google it sad. The police said they were Cleary in the wrong and if it happened again called so yea again don't come here mind I was even their for hoppers I was approached. They need some type of driver license class on how to id those brain...

Throughly disappointed. Originally from Towson, Maryland, however my family and I went down to Salisbury to help my sister move into her new house, she goes to Salisbury University. After moving her in, we wanted to grab some food near the university, so we went to “Hoppers” and specifically we went to “Wing It”. I ordered the cream of crab soup after it was spoken highly of, upon getting it, quite literally every spoonful I ate, I had to pull tiny pieces of shell out of my mouth. I told the ladies back there that I wasn’t happy with my order and when I explained what was going on to the manager he told me “next time, if you don’t want shells with your crab, don’t order it.” Appalled and dumbfounded with what i was just told by the manager, I kindly asked for my money back and just wanted to get out of there! Thankfully I did get my refund but for future reference, for those of you interested in getting the cream of crab soup, don’t order it unless you want shells in it....
