1st visit - we had a really good time and enjoyed our meals. Not much to complain about.
2nd visit - I ordered curry chicken and rice…the rice was not fully cooked and the curry chicken was below subpar. The sauce - which was barely present - wasn’t rich and had gloopy bits in it. The chicken didn’t look marinated at all. When I told the chef and instead of apologizing, he tried to blame it on the type of rice and was not apologetic or kind at all. Made me feel weird. I asked for a replacement instead and I received a coco bread that tasted like freezer burn.
3rd time - I decided to try it one more time and, unfortunately, this will be my last. When I came in to ask what they had ready today I was given this weird look and unfriendly vibe. I decided not to waste my money on poor customer service.
This sucks because they’re priced are amazing and it is SO CLOSE to where I live. But, I respect myself and choose to support businesses that treat me well.
Perhaps the chef was different or the management is changing but the current chef needs an attitude adjustment and the ability to take criticism or feedback with a positive approach and mindset. Hopefully a new jamaican restaurant pops up sometime in the near future. I miss my culture but this was unpleasant.
Also hated the fact that the religious music was so loud. You’re getting customers from all walks of life and I prefer to eat where it’s not noisy all the time. Not to mention, if you’re going to represent your faith out loud and not live it up to your ACTUAL CUSTOMERS? The hypocrisy of it...
Read moreI’ve been going to this location now. I don’t know how many years may be over four years and I remember when they first opened I felt like they had a lot of love and passion behind the food and the business and you could tell that’s why people loved coming there Well recently over the past few weeks I’ve cut back on going there as much as I used to because one I had a eyelash in my rice one other reason which is the main big reason besides the eyelash I would order anywhere from 2 to 6 patties and one setting and every time I ordered them, I would always have one that was so hard for a person to eat to the touch it would literally break and just crumble into the trash, hard as a rock meat like you could hammer on the table And that’s why after that every time I went, I would say can I please have soft patties can I please have soft patties and it would still happen. I just don’t understand why a business would continue to sell bad food to people that are not only regular customers but good people you shouldn’t do it at all very disappointed in this business and I will not be...
Read moreVisted this place while in Edgewood. This place is so clean! We dine in & the music playing makes the vibes feel even better. There are a variety of island known brands of drinks to choose from all non-alcoholic brevages. Now, what really got my attention was his naturally made seasmoss. It was sweeten and made to perfection. Definitely touched my taste buds. We ordered two plates. One small island style stew chicken came with coconut rice and peas with cabbage. Oh boy, my food was served heated hot 🔥 like it was just finished cooking the way I love to have my food serve. The dish was delicious, I can't deny it. Everything on my plate was gone. The flavors 😋 were great. The 2nd plate, which was also GREAT it was the small jerk chicken. This chef is really Jamincian and has mastered the art of jerking chicken. The dish came with the rice and peas and cabbage. Excellent, I recommend this place. We had lunch here, and it was worth it. Our order consists of 1 ting an island drink, 1 cup chef made seas moss, 2 small plates, one stew one jerk cost...
