Jimmy T's Restaurant — Restaurant in Maryland

I want to first give a disclaimer that I cannot definitively state that what I’m about to say happened or if I may be mistaken of what I think may have occurred today 9/9/2025. But I want to share my experience at Jimmy T’s Restaurant (Fort Smallwood in MD). I have never visited this establishment nor have anyone mentioned this place to me. However, I was in the area and searched for a nearby place to dine for something simple but satisfying. I came across Jimmy T’s and decided to try them out. Upon entering the place, I was a bit leery about entering and dining in because I wondered if I would be welcomed. I have to be honest and blunt but respectful to say that I along with my guest were the only African Americans in the restaurant. Although, I have no issue with any race, yes still in 2025 some other races don’t really care for me and my race. I want to reiterate that I’m unsure if this was the case here, my intuition and the incident led me to express my thoughts. I ordered wings and fries for myself and burger and fries for my guests and our waiter/bartender seemed nice and pleasant but I’m not sure if this was a facade or not. However, when the food finally came my guest bit into the burger and enjoyed it but I felt the need to inspect my food before taking a bite and I picked up a wing and it had something slimy hanging from it. I checked the other buffalo wings and they did not have a slimy or thick consistency as the one I picked up. I didn’t want to assume so I took that same wing, got a napkin and wiped the slimy stuff onto the napkin and asked the person I was with what the substance look like? They replied snot, I myself thought it was spit, so I didn’t eat any of them and I stopped my guest from finishing the food any further. I asked for the check, a To-Go tray, I took the wings only to not cause a scene, paid and exited the establishment. Again, I don’t know what that was in my food and I pray it was not what we believed it may have been but if it was I pray for the soul who would do such a thing. ate here last week with a larger group, i had never been before and the food was surprisingly excellent. the fried stuff (pickles, shrimp) was all perfectly crispy and delicious, and the dipping sauce was pretty good. and we also had steamed shrimp, 2 cheesesteaks, and a bowl of half&half crab soup. the shrimp and cheesesteaks were fantastic. the soup was a bit more watery than i like, the flavor was okay. i wouldn’t order it again, there’s other places i like better. some of the other people i was with ordered pizza and said it was good - it’s like joe corbi’s or bowling alley type pizza. our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed, but she was nice (i think it was busier than they expected for a wednesday night). we got the cheesesteaks to go, along with an order of jalapeno poppers, but when we got home there were no jalapeno poppers 😭 i would absolutely go here again to try more of their menu - but if i order to-go food again i will check the bag...

My friend and I both had a burger and a beer. My favorite part of the meal was the fries. They had a nice peppery seasoning that I am not used to but I kinda liked. The burgers were ok, not bad not good. Nothing stood out about them. I asked for medium and got medium well but that isn’t a major issue. The service was slow but friendly. This is the type of place where locals go for the bar experience. Personally it wasn’t my type of place. They have a good menu selection for food, but their beer on tap is very limited to only the domestics like...
