WARNING TO ALL: COUNT YOUR CHANGE! The food is usually very good I don't have any complaints about that but there's been 2 times where I've ordered carryout and the cashiers tried to sneakily steal my change, once the girl tried to steal 20$ from me and then tonight (March 30 2022)the girl Cheyenne tried to steal 50$ from me. I paid with 100$ bill and my order was 29$ and some change, she said I might not have change for this then opened the waitress book and pulled out the money, sat a 50$ bill down then started counting out the rest.. then stopped and put the 50$ bill back and handed me 29$. Then she tried to walk away but I said excuse me that's not the right change.. she got an attitude and took the 29$ back. I told her to just give me 70$ you can keep the change change. Then she says I'm so tired of this I'm really ready to just walk out.. like okay I'm sorry you don't like when people pay attention to their money.. there are always alot of older people in there and with how sneakily she did it, it didn't seem like it was the first time she's done it and probably gets away with it with the older crowd which is very disgusting. She needs to be watched and or fired. Please check the cameras on March 30th 2022 around 6:30-7pm and watch. Also they will steal your change change without batting an eye, when you're doing carryout you do not expect to get a tip and you sure as heck do not just take it. The other girl and older woman are always extremely nice and professional you can tell they actually care about good service. I do not respect people who blatantly steal and everytime I know that girl is there I WILL NOT be handing her my money. And whoever does serve me will receive a tip just in spite of...
Read moreI love when a place totally blows away my expectations, and this great little local diner-style restaurant totally did that!! Been driving by this place for years and (unfortunately for me) nothing about the name or the exterior or the strip mall parking lot location ever made me even consider stopping by. Anyhow, some friends mentioned it, so our group of four stopped by one evening. The minute you walk in, it feels like a diner with the homemade dessert refrigerator, bar seating, local patriotic decorations, booths, and impressively thick menu of many varied options. The background country music (not too loud) gives it a little local vibe too. No reservations so take any table (if there is one....which there wasn't for us, so we had to stand at the door for about 5 minutes). Definitely feels like everyone here is probably eating here often, and the average patron age is probably 70....but everyone was welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is clean, the tables were quickly bussed, and our waitress (Allie) was excellent and friendly. We didn't try any, but it appears they even have a fridge with individual cans/bottles of beer (no drafts) and wine. Everything is reasonably priced, the food is quickly served, the serving sizes are very generous, and most importantly - everything was delicious. Truly, every person at our table said their items were great and they would definitely be coming back. So if you are looking to some unique and diner style food in a casual (NOT fancy) local place, definitely make this place the top...
Read moreRecently, my family embarked on a breakfast tour around Pasadena and stumbled upon Johnny’s Family Restaurant, a hidden gem recommended by a neighbor. Despite living in the area for three years, we had never noticed this quaint eatery. Our experience at Johnny’s was exceptional, thanks to Madison, our attentive server.
Our party of five sampled a variety of breakfast staples, including French toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. The consensus was unanimous: Johnny’s offerings surpassed those of other local breakfast spots. The French toast and pancakes were particularly delightful, earning praise from even our pickiest eater. The bacon was authentic and cooked to perfection, while the eggs were notably fluffy and the hash browns were cooked just right.
What stood out, in addition to the food quality, was the value. The cost for five meals was surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the dishes. It’s a mystery why there isn’t a constant line outside Johnny’s, given the quality and value they offer.
Johnny’s has certainly earned its place as our go-to breakfast destination in Pasadena. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-notch breakfast fare at a...
