I took my friend here for a birthday dinner. Considering the poor quality of the meal, I'm very glad that she chose it, otherwise I'd feel really badly. I really should have taken photos, but I didn't think of it. We each had soup, Tom Yum and Tom Kha. They should have been embarrassed by the poor quality of mushrooms in the soup. There were dark marks all over them, the kind mushrooms get when they have been in your fridge for too long. The Tom Yum broth was sweet. I have Tom Yum at every Thai restaurant I go to as it is my favorite, and I have never tasted sweet broth.
I didn't see it until I got home, but we were charged more than the price on the menu for the chicken satay. It was okay, but the sticky rice was served to us wrapped in plastic wrap.
The Maprow fish - we chose salmon - was dried out and overcooked. The steamed broccoli was cold.
The Bangkok Noodles had only 4 pieces of shrimp and a few slivers of chicken. The noodles were stuck together in clumps and the sauce was sticky and sweet.
The desserts were somewhat better. My friend had mango and sticky rice and I had coconut pudding. I've not had coconut pudding, so I'm not sure how thick/firm the bottom layer is supposed to be...it was quite chewy, but it...
Read moreI would define myself as a regular. I work down the street and go usually 12-15 times per year. The food was good (though not as good as the previous Pick Thai restaurant in that location). I ordered a soup and steamed noodles today online. When the online service told me the food was ready I drove over. The lady at the front told me 5 minutes and it would be ready. 30 minutes later and (asking a couple more times) I tell her I need to get back to my office and so please give me my food or give me a refund. She tells me 2 more minutes and only then in the back do I see her put the steamed noodles in the microwave to heat.
40 minutes of waiting I finally get my soup and noodles. I try to begin a conversation with her in regards ro my disappointment with how long it took and she immediately cuts me off and says "I'm busy" and walks off into the back. So rude. Especially for someone who frequents the establishment regularly.
For now on I will go to the Thai restaurant in Waugh Chapel which taste much better. I only refrained from going there in the past because it was farther away. I'd rather support people who...
Read moreI honestly feel like I could eat dinner from here every night and never get tired of it. The food is hands down, delicious!!
I've tried several of the curries, and they are really good. The panang is probably my favorite, but you really cannot go wrong no matter which one you order! I love the Thai Basil fried rice. It's soo good and hits the spot every time I crave it. Their appetizers are all soo good too. The spring rolls, curry puffs, gyoza, sate, shrimp cakes are scrumptious! One time they had these chive dumplings that were crazy good too!
My latest obsession from here is the Pad See-Ew, with pork. It's like a comfort food for me. It's my go-to for an easy dinner, when I just want to relax, binge a show and eat something yummy. I've never dined-in, but I have picked up and the interior is really cute, especially since they renovated. It's clean, employees are friendly, food is well packaged. Pricing seems pretty reasonable for what you get, especially given the flavor...
