I am sitting at the bar as I type this. I am new to the area, just wanted to try out the place and have one drink. This however did not happen. There seems to be a private party that has happened, but there's no sign or doorman at the entrance to inform me. An indication that the public is allowed in. I have been ignored the entire time I've been here. The bar is not closed as the two bartenders (Lindsay & Sarah) are still serving drinks to the older black men that come up and flirt, while still taking shots themselves. I have tried to get someones attention to see if I've made a mistake by coming in or maybe I was misinformed, but I keep getting passed over for the next gentleman with grey hair or grey in their beards... I am not dress inadequately as I have not been home after work. I am a Black Veteran so I know I don't look young. No one even cared enough to tell me the bar is closed. I guess I'd have to wait another 20yrs when I'll turn grey before I'd get service here. Unacceptable. If you aren't a graying Black man in your mid to late 40s, then I do not recommend this place.
P.s. The lights have come up and still neither bartender has addressed me. They still drink their alcohol as the flirt with the older men....
Read moreI just want to vent my frustration concerning Martinis Lounge unscrupulous dealing with a well-known local classic rock and oldies band that has performed at Martinis many times since the original opening in late 2006.
All establishments that hire bands to entertain their patrons share a joint responsibility to not only advertise these events but come up with inventive ways to maximize their business. Examples would be things like: early bird dinner specials, happy hour discounts on beer or wine, free wings during happy hour, etc.
I am retired and no longer in the band business but it has always angered me that a “bad (slow) night” is blamed on the band. Truth is more often it's the owner or the manager lack of business savvy that is at fault. There’s an old saying in the band business that goes: when the club is packed the owners has the coldest beer in town and when business is bad he’s hired the worst band in town.
If a club decides a particular band is wrong for their business that's one thing…but asking that same band to return and demanding a large salary cut is simply bad business. It’s only a matter of time before this strip mall restaurant and bar is under new ownership...
Read moreThis is my first time here. I ordered the pepperoni pizza; sent it back to be cooked longer, but was no better when it was brought back. I sat at the bar and was subjected to an incompetent waitress who was incapable of operating the computer curse and hurl every obscenity she could muster up. Another waitress joined in on her unprofessional bantering and acted just as foolish.
I asked to speak with a manger who seemed to care about my concerns. Wrong!!! When the uncouth waitress started hurling obscenities again, the manager goes to her, and tells her to stop it. The waitress continues but now turns on the manager. At this point the manager whuspers in hervear and then the waitress looksvand me. I look at her as if to say yes, I complained and what?!
She rolls her eyes and walks off. Really?! How tacky, uncouth and unprofessional can this staff be. I really don't think I will return to this place. This us my girst and hopefully last visit. 8:37 PM,...
