Mona's Gourmet Carry Out — Restaurant in Maryland

Good Food, Great Location, but...

Working on Fort Meade, Mona's Gourmet is just about your only choice if you want to get your fix for Korean Food for lunch. Food is very good and authentic and they are located right outside the gate.

I do have some beefs though:

They only take Cash, no credit cards. Service is slow, even when I call my order in it usually takes 12-30 minutes. No side items with your meals. (Other than a little container of Kimchi on request) You can't order and actual Stone Bowl Bibimbop. Interior is a bit sketchy. I usually get my meal to go. Lastly, price. You would think that with the money they save from being cash only, little or no sides, no waitress staff (you bus your own table), that you would see some more reasonable prices. An order of Kimche Jigae with an order of Yakimando will run your about $18 dollars with tax. I consider that a bit pricey for a takeout joint.

All that being said, I usually end up eating there a couple times a month because the food is good and the only Korean choice close...

Been going to Mona' for years, but don't know it I will continue! Service was good as usual, but all of my order was incorrect! Never mind paying the price for the food, but the portions have gotten way smaller for the prices they are charging! Got a hamburger (Mcdonald size now) but was given Beef Bolgoli instead of what I ordered! I had to return my whole order for a refund due to given the wrong order and such a small amount of food! For some reason they can't seem to work well under pressure and overwhelmed when having a rush! I don't know the name of the lady who was doing the cooking, but she actually tried to go back and forth and going to tell me what I ordered! I've always had nothing but Mad Respect and Love for Ms. Mona and her family and I Pray that all the hard work and sweat that she has put into her business, it survives being it still maintains her name as well as family!...

The food is ok not the fries, always burnt you can tell they cook the Fries in the chicken and fish grease everything is overpriced. She caters only to the military that's why she changed her hours from11-5pm and closed on weekends. she makes all her money from people coming off base to get a quick bite for lunch they eat anything regular workers don't buy from her anymore because you can tell it's something fishy going on with her business who can afford to close their business on weekends and early in this hard time that's the reason she only takes cash, not cards.
