Quite simply, this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
My wife and I ordered a Valentine's Day dinner from Nirvana Indian, as a delivery through Uber Eats. The food we received was simply unacceptable. My Lamb Kabob was cold, EXTREMELY dry, and the cuts of meat were full of sinew. Chewing it felt like eating rubber, I could not eat it.
My wife's vegetarian order - aloo gobi - was cold and poorly prepared. It looked like something hastily thrown together in two minutes.
When I called the restaurant to speak to the manager, he told me to call Uber Eats to ask for a refund.
And here is were I learned about the Uber Eats catch.
UE would only offer me a FIVE DOLLAR uber credit!! This was a $52 order!!! It quickly became clear to me how this Uber Eats scam works: this restaurant KNOWS it is off the hook when customers order through Uber Eats. As a result, they do an awful job with the food, knowing that they will not have to FACE THE CUSTOMER!!! It is completely shameful!!
Needless to say, I am disputing this transaction with my bank and I WILL MAKE SURE I GET...
Read moreThe food was delicious but a couple of things: It was a damp, rainy night. The temp inside the restaurant was 61F. We were cold. Even though the food came out hot, the utensils and plates were cold. Our hands got chilly while waiting so we asked for tea. Since we had asked for the thermostat to be raised (but it couldn't be for some odd reason), I thought the tea might have been provided complementary. No. $5 for two. We ate with our winter jackets on like the other guests that night. 1 star for atmosphere. Most of their meat dishes are marinated in milk. For the lactose intolerant, there are only 4 or 5 dishes that are vegan - the closest you can get to no milk. These are not indicated on the menu so you have to ask.
Like I said, the food was excellent, 4 stars. I loved the chicken korma and daal tarka. My wife thought the alu gobi was a bit too spicy/hot for her liking, but she really likes mild. I didn't mind. But I'd have to recommend you call and ask what the inside temperature is before dining in. Lots of folks were picking up to go, so they could just leave their...
Read moreWent to Nirvana for dinner last night. The atmosphere was nice, and the decor very authentic and beautiful. We ordered the mango chutney, chicken vindalu, chicken palak, and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely excellent, and the prices were, in my experience, about standard for good Indian cuisine. The chicken palak really stood out as fantastic, and I will order it again and again. All the ingredients tasted high quality and were prepared perfectly. Each member of the staff we encountered was pleasant and polite. At one point, either the manager or owner came out to see if we were enjoying our meal, and told us that the wine we were having was recommended by a customer and did we like it. He seemed to care very much that we enjoyed our experience, which is always great to see. Small detail, but they were very attentive to keeping the water glasses full, which is a big deal to me! I’m so happy to have this excellent little restaurant in the community now. Definitely...
