Went into here to try it out, been to plenty of sushi places around the area but hadn’t done this one yet. The inside is really nicely put together, the service was friendly too. The sushi entrees we ordered were very good, the beef in the bento box was just ok. Also ordered a wasabi zen tower which was literally a small sushi tower and it was worth a try. Tasty For the not so awesome parts, I ordered one sushi lunch special which was “chefs choice” and 3 of the 6 rolls were cucumber rolls 😑 I’m sure plenty of people order vegetarian rolls but I was disappointed. Also, every table had a nice looking bottle of hand sanitizer on it which was nice, although when I used it WOW it is a VERY heavily scented product. It was so strong I went to the bathroom to wash it off. All in all it is a quality place to get sushi from and I would eat there again

My wife and I recently moved to the area and as self proclaimed sushi lovers, we had to try the best local spot. They were set up for low contact pick up with a tablen at the door with orders that are ready nearby. We ordered: a garden salad, tamago, California roll, eel avocado handroll, 2 salmon rolls, yellowtail roll and a tuna roll. It was all delicious and we can't wait to order again in the near future. Fish pieces were substantial and worth the price. Just as a general Fyi the eel avocado handroll came with crunches on top (if you are GF this could be an issue for you).

Delicious and fresh sushi!! I know it's the only sushi place in Olney but it's so so good. Ignore the reviews talking about bad service or whatever, the food is good and that's all that matters. We actually have great service everytime, my only complaint is the size of the place, it's a pretty tiny restaurant.... I tried the seafood udon for the first time here and it's was super flavorful. The sushi rolls never disappoint, love this place!!

Wasabi Zen is the best sushi restaurant in Olney because it is the only sushi restaurant in Olney, unfortunately. The sushi is good, but their customer service is awful and makes it well worth driving just a bit out of town to another spot.

This evening I ordered dinner for carry out around 5pm, as it’s a Saturday and they often have a long wait time on the weekends. To our surprise, it was going to be ready in 20 minutes. No big deal, we had no problem refrigerating it until we were ready to eat dinner once our baby went to sleep. We unpack the boxes at 7 and notice that one of the rolls is missing. Mistakes happen, but we definitely shouldn’t have to pay for a roll that we didn’t receive, so I called explaining the situation and requested a refund for the roll. First, I was told that I didn’t order the roll that I indicated was missing. I replied that not only did the person taking the order repeat the order back before hanging up, but when I picked up the order they also read out all of the rolls. We definitely ordered the missing roll. Once that case was made, she said I should have called right when I picked it up. I explained why I didn’t, as we picked up earlier than we were intending to eat. She said there was nothing that she could do. She then passed the phone to two other people to continue saying the same thing. The final person I spoke with continued to say “we checked the order and it should have been there” …exactly my point, it should have been there. Again, mistakes happen, but it wasn’t there and we paid for a roll that we didn’t receive. He continued to state that there was just nothing they could do.

The cost of the roll was $7.95. When I initially called I thought it would be a quick whoops, so sorry, no problem, refund. But rather than just refund $7.95, they’ve lost a customer for good. Skip Wasabi Zen and drive just out of Olney in any direction—there’s better sushi with owners and staff that don’t assume you’re lying and will own up to...

I’ve been to this restaurant for a couple times. Although the food are overpriced, they are good. But today, the servant who served my table had extremely worst altitude that I’ve ever seen!!! I couldn’t understand her English but I tried to order in the way she would be able to understand. She rolled her eyeballs and asked me to leave when I was eating??? She said I was wasting her time because I didn’t order a lot. Me and my friend ordered food in total price $70, we paid $8 tips because we thought she didn’t serve well and she was so mean. She just stood by the table and wait us to give her more. She said everybody she served need to give her 30%tips... she stood beside the front door, opened door for other customers but when we left, she closed the door suddenly. We went out, she yelled at us “Don’t come back.” This was a ridiculous experience, I won’t go to that restaurant anymore!!! She thought I don’t understand Korean, so she said some bad words about me and my friend in Korean! She doesn’t know my friend is Korean.... it’s interesting that this is a Japanese restaurant but actually Koreans serve us. I promise we didn’t do anything else which could be considered as rude, we are just mad that we were...

I've been going here for years and have always dined in with absolutely no problems. In fact, the service and quality always exceeded my expectations.

I've tried takeout a few times since the shutdown and the food is still awesome but the takeout protocol isn't the same. I ask for my ginger and wasabi in a separate container since I have an 8 year old who will not eat it if touched her food. It was not packaged separately, but instead touching all the rolls on that side of the box. When I've got sushi takeout from other restaurants they placed the fake grass divider so the rice didn't soak up the ginger juices.

The other takeout issue I have had is that I only got chopsticks on 1 of my 3 takeout orders. I'm usually spending over $100 so it's upsetting that it's not the same great quality I'm used to getting in the restaurant.

I completely understand the struggle of covid on restaurants so this is no way meaning I won't go back, but more like feedback...
