Opie's Soft Serve & Snowballs — Restaurant in Maryland

This place had high ratings so we tried it. We didn’t find it to be more than a standard snowball Place. The girl that waited on me wasn’t happy i was there to say the least. Ordered our 3 snowballs and waited. Each was sat outside the window as they were done.. in the 94 degree weather. The first, chocolate with marshmallow. Marshmallow running down the cup and melting quickly. It was an over-filled snowball which, to me, is not a good thing unless your eating it right there. By the time the second was sat in the heat, there was a pool of marshmallow and chocolate on the ledge and ground. The second chocolate quickly melting adding to the mess. I’m grabbing napkins trying to clean it up and then.. NO TRASH CAN!! The employee opened the window, seen I was struggling to clean up Not only the snowball cups but the ledge etc. She sat the snowball down and closed the window. Then , she went to the other window and waited on the next person in line. I was taken back for a minute.. NO HELP??? No cup carrier? How do I transport three over filled melting snowballs in a vehicle? I knocked on window and asked; do you have any dome lids for the snowballs? Do You have a cup carrier? A trash can? She said nothing and handed out a cup carrier. I sat the cups in the carrier, left the napkins I used on the ledge, and left. Needless to say by the time I got home, less than a mile, the snowballs were a mess and watery and my car.. chocolate massacre. I was pretty disappointed because we just moved to catonsville and I’m a snowball addict. I was hoping for much more! If I had to give advice to any snowball stands it would be to invest in some dome lids. You would be surprised how much tour customers will Appreciate you thought about their snowball...

What a Gem that me and my Family have been coming to almost every year for over a decade now…It’s a tradition and a THANKFUL treat because these types of spots don’t come often anymore…You anticipate when they reopen for the season but the time makes the heart grow fonder as the saying goes…This establishment has theee PERFECT soft serve or snowball with all the Flavors, Toppings, and variations that you you can think of asking…Takes me back to my childhood and the atmosphere/community matches that same energy and feeling …Simple and Nostalgic ☺️🍦🍧… They beat any other private chain ice cream shop any day!! I wish it could be more locations in other communities so that others can experience a community staple like this! It’s more than a ice cream spot; it’s gives the vibes of beautiful...

I go to Opie's for the soft serve ice cream, love it. My husband goes for the snowballs, we both think the marshmallow is the best around, including Philadelphia were my son lives. The young people that work at Opie's are always polite and have an urgency to get your order completed. When I stop at Opie's now matter how rushed my life feels I always take the time to swing on their swings. It's always fun watching all the families interact , the kids running around , even pets getting their ice cream. It may sound corny but this little place is what America...
