Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Maryland

I pre-ordered 12 pizzas (online) for a birthday party and requested they be delivered at 12 pm the following day. An employee called me the morning of the party around 10:30am and told me, the pizzas would be ready by 10:45 am. She explained that when they receive an order, they immediately start it. (Whether or not they noticed that the delivery time was at 12 pm, I’m not sure).

I asked if they could hold off because we couldn’t eat until after 12pm and we had no way of keeping the pizza warm or fresh. She immediately became rude as can be and told me I ordered incorrectly on the website (I did not) and refused to accommodate the original delivery time. She told me, and I quote, “When you order online, you must choose a make time and a delivery time. You also should have realized that you’re 8 minutes away and done the math and ordered the pizzas later if you wanted them fresh. I am not re-doing this order”.

First of all, there is no “make time” option on the website, only a scheduled delivery time. In what world would a pizza place allow their customers to choose when the pizza went into the ovens?? Let alone know how long it takes to make 12 pizzas or what the current order queue looks like. The mental math gymnastics it would take to figure that out…..they might as well pay me to work there at that point.

After not being able to come to an agreement, she blurted out, “fine then I’ll just void the order” and hung up on me. I tried calling back at least 5 times that day and was immediately hung up on each time. We ended up ordering from somewhere else.

Honestly, I make it a point to not be rude to employees or customer service agents. I’ve been there, it’s [usually] not their fault. However, if she had just been more polite and apologetic of the situation instead of doubling down and lying about the online ordering system, I wouldn’t be here. Instead, she woke up and chose anger and tried to blame their mistake on me.

I kept an eye on my credit card and saw that the charged was marked pending but then disappeared so I wasn’t too worried. However, I noticed that the charge was eventually posted and I’m now being charged for a $150+ order we...

I recently ordered a pizza from Papa John's at the cherry valley shopping center here in Maryland, I ordered what they claim is New York style pizza, well please it was anything but New York style, you claim because you can fold it in the middle makes it New York style you should have looked at Pizzas from different places from NY just to see what NY pizza looks like before you say it's NY pizza, if your pizza had a crust around the pie it may have even resembled what NY pizza but there is no crust, and being from NY I was very disappointed when I opened my pizza box, if anyone wants to see what real NY pizza should look like just Google Rays Famous Pizza in NYC or New Park Pizza from Howard Beach NY which to me is the best Pizza you will ever try, they have been there over 70 years and only sell pizza Friday and Saturday nights they are open till 2am and you may have to wait on line just to get a slice, so again if your ordering from Papa John's and you order NY style pizza it's not even close to what it looks like or tastes like, it's just a large Papa John's...

This Papa John's is absolute trash. We ordered a basic pepperoni pizza at 7 o'clock and after an hour of waiting we called and the person we spoke with was really rude. She lied and said the delivery guy just left, even though we could see the delivery just kind of driving around town for about an hour. They lied again and said that the pizza was already delivered to an address that doesn't even exist. Then lied a 3rd time and said that they "fixed the address and the pizza is being delivered". Then the pizza showed up 20 mins later and it was, of course, the wrong pizza, cold, and misshapen. After trying to flag down the driver, I noticed his car was full of people who were clearly not employees. I'm not eating the pizza. It's going in the trash. Complete waste of time and money and I will never purchase food from Papa John's again. Papa John's should literally be ashamed that this location even exists. Again, absolute trash place. How do you mess a pepperoni pizza being delivered...
