Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Maryland

This location had the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced of an restaurant I have ever ordered from. We ordered two medium pizzas tonight at around 6:20. The tracker said to expect approximately 60 minutes for delivery. At approximately 7:45 it had not arrived so I called the store. I explained the situation and they placed me on hold for the manager, I assume the shift manager for tonight. I say assume because I was left on hold with no information for almost 15 minutes. I hung up and called back and a different woman who identified herself as the manager answered. She was EXTREMELY rude and merely said that she had sent a driver and that if I didn't want the pizza I could refuse the take them and trust that they would process a refund. With a very upset and hungry 5 and 2 year old and it already being nearly 8pm, that wasn't much of a choice. She refused to do anything else and dismissively barked at me that "it's a busy Friday night, deal with it." I was absolutely stunned. After the call ended inbece extremely angry and called back. No answer and the call died. I immediately called back and the same woman answered after the first ring, so I am assuming she ignored my second call. I then asked her for a number for a district or corporate supervisor and she stated she "did not have that information available." I said fine, I would find it for myself but to please give me her name so I could complain and she refused, now saying she did not deal with my complaint and would not be responsible for my call to her supervisor.

I sincerely hope that the store manager sees and responds to this message with their contact information. I am more than willing to amend this review should the manager contact me and address this infuriating incident. This occurred between 6:26 and 8:13pm on Friday June 6, 2025 with a woman who identified herself originally...

I been ordering from this place for years, but since the pandemic, its gotten constantly worse. The last four orders had these problems. First order, they overly cooked the pizza, it was badly burnt all around. Second order, they delivered it lukewarm almost cold...they had a door dasher deliver it, third order they forgot the anchovies....now this last order, they had a Door Dasher deliver, forgot the 2 liter pepsi, I called, they said she had it, I called the door dasher, she said she didnt have it, so someones lying.

Either way, why the hell is Papa Johns so short staffed that they need door dashers? Pay your delivery drivers more and maybe they wont quit.

Follow up: I tried to order a pizza again, usually I order online so I can use coupon codes. But they instructed me that to get my 2 Liter pepsi for free I gotta call and place an order over the phone.

Thing is, they cant give me the usual 25 percent off I get with ordering online, making it completely redundant.

If you NEED to order from this place, go to it in person, the kids they hire are incompetent, the drivers are incompetent, and its the same problem in many Fast Food and Pizza areas, they hire kids who have barely any training, and they constantly, CONSTANTLY mess up orders.

DO NOT DO DELIVERY, you go there, you CHECK YOUR PIZZA, you CHECK to make sure you have everything you ordered, and if anything is wrong YOU TELL THEM to do it again, until they...

I had to go to dominos to get my refund since they took 3 hours just to "start" making my pizza. We pulled up to papa John's and the doors were locked at that moment the delivery guy pulled up as well. I proceed to ask if they were open and he said yes for delivery only which I was fine with (yes this is a long review just listen to my wattpad story okay) I asked him how fast I would get my food and explained my dominos dilemma. He said 30 mins and I said "you promise?🥺" and he said "I would deliver it in 20 mins if I could" and smiled, and at that moment I gave him all my trust.. then he gave me hope and told me he would hand deliver my order to my car. And my stomach fluttered I knew he was a real one. He told me to order online and remembered my address. And everything went down hill..their website said carry out only, which didn't make sense because it also said delivery only before clicking the site.. so i proceeded anyways and as I was about to click confirm order my heart broke... "this store is closed" is what I read.. but how..how could the store be closed if I'm looking at them in my rear view... I lost a part of myself at this point so I tried to call...and it rang.. and kept ringing.. and nobody answered my hungering cries.. a promise was broken..a soul betrayed...a heart shattered.. and my stomach still empty... I guess I'll go...
