Was in the area to attend our son's Regional Competition for High School Marching Band. We are from PA. Five minutes away from Arundel High School. There was a break and we thought....food to get us through the night. "Rinconcito" means corner or nook and location wise...exactly in a corner. We were greeted warmly by the host and seated promptly. Generous seating is mostly booths..making it very family friendly. There is a room in the back for quiet or private parties. The bathrooms are neat and clean....a big plus for me. Decorated with pictures and figurines, lightning cozy and the music was not loud but set to a volume with a tasteful selection of Latino music. Two menus were provided...food and drink/dessert. Lunch is served until 3pm...so dinner it was. The drink menu is expansive...mixed drinks, beer, wine and fountain. We got Tamrindo Margaritas to celebrate Dia de los Muertos (10/31-11\2) and I was disappointed there was nothing on the menu or decoration wise to remember loved oned who have since passed. The chips were warm but the salsa dull...any salsa is vibrant in color, with cilantro, onions, jalapenos and a hint of lime. We got tacos- meat and chicken. They both lacked spices of any kind....very bland but the tacos were warm. The meat was dry as the desert but the chicken was moist. Rice and beans were very cold as if it had been sitting for a while and the guacamole was a watered down version of true guacamole....rich, creamy with a bit of onion and hint of lime. Flan dessert was on the house but it was burnt, had a skin and cooked way too long....true flan is to die for....beautifully baked carmel custard, creamy, a little jiggle to it with a light carmel to compliment each bite. Our server was warm and personable. Experience was more like a diner than resturant. Food was disappointing and the price...
Read moreAfter recently moving to the area from Texas with my husband, we were looking for a good local Mexican restaurant to try. This one had good reviews and was close by, so we were excited to try it. After waiting 10 minutes for a waiter, he came over and took drink orders, and after another 10 minutes, we received them. I requested Queso as an appetizer, and he had no idea what I was talking about as if it’s not a MEXICAN restaurant. He asked if I meant cheese dip, to which I said yes please. He brought some out, and it was the blandest queso I’ve ever had, and it wasn’t even fully melted, which was disappointing. Our waiter was very neglectful and rude, he ignored us and never checked if we needed refills or anything at all. He avoided eye contact when we needed refills, I had to get his attention from across the restaurant just for him to come to our table. On his way over, he made sure to roll his eyes and smirk, as if he thought bad customer service was funny. Food was cold by the time we got it, and wasn’t bad but also wasn’t the best. Definitely should’ve spoken to a manager, but we were new to the area and we couldn't wait to get out of there. We will not be going back and do not recommend. We do recommend Lime and Salt down the street, they are a popular restaurant and we’ve had great...

Rinconcito has been around for years and back in the day, it was nothing to write home about. Thus, years have passed since we last dined there. We were looking for casual Mexican food and decided to give it a try. I’m not sure it there is new management or what but I absolutely loved it!
The interior is redone with plenty of seating. At the time we stopped in, we could choose anywhere to sit. The bar was stocked and the drinks were full! We enjoyed a margarita and a Long Island and there was absolutely no disappointment!
The food was so hot and fresh, the chips came out warm. The salsa was this delicious chunky fresh batch that had just enough sweet and savory to it.
We tried the fajita, the house sampler which consisted of a chimichanga, pork tamale, and two other items under sauce. The chimichanga was so good! Many places stuff them with a standard saucy chicken tinga but this was loaded with fresh, uncomplicated, seasoned chicken! Even My daughter had downed her burger faster than I’d seen her before!
The staff was friendly and the service was fast! I can’t...
