I visited Roma's Café for the first time today. It was a pleasant little restaurant nestled behind a tire shop and a Jiffy Lube. The restaurant inside was clean, and decorated reasonably so. The tables were charmingly small, and enough to handle an intimate luncheon or dinner. The staff were friendly enough and were attentive. A little more enthusiasm could be better, but I wasn't offended. When I come into a place like this I am looking foreword to food most of all. I ordered a side garden salad with Italian dressing and a 12 inch pizza with mushrooms. The salad came first and quickly within a minute or two. The dressing came in a typical plastic cup with a lid and the salad in a medium size b owl with the typical veggies: iceberg lettuce, romaine, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, cucumbers, and grape tomatoes. The dressing looked more like a creamy Caesar dressing than Italian, but it was good never the less. I finished my salad and it wasn't much time until my pizza came. Maybe 5 minutes. The pizza came on a metal pizza pan and the pizza looked well cooked I could see on top by the brown spots of the cheese. The crust was well cooked on top, but when I lifted the slice from the pie, underneath the pie was white. I like my pizza to be cooked bottom and top with some crunchiness. I was disappointed, and I know that is not easy for pizza shops to do it right. You need the right kind of oven and right temperature setting. The pizza slice must be able to hold shape and not be limping over my hand. Often I find, after a pizza has cooled to room temperature putting back in oven will make a crunchiness. My quest here was to find good sauce also, and it was. I wasn't too sweet and had good fresh flavor. I'm not big on cheese and I felt there was slightly too much cheese that it slid off as I was eating. Too much cheese does that. I like mushrooms and the mushrooms here are good and fresh. I do admit I like mushrooms out of a can, but I don't hold that against them. I finished up my meal and they handled the transaction at my table quickly, and I left. Will I return in the future? Maybe, I did like the sauce and if necessary I could always put the pizza back in the oven at home. And I might return to try other...
Read moreMy husband and I had the pleasure of eating at Roma's to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary last month. We had been told by these two ladies that we had just met that that was a good place to go for a cheesesteak, as my husband is from Philadelphia and loves a good cheese steak. I however ordered the crab cake lunch special, which consisted of a crab cake sandwich and french fries and I decided to try a cup of cream of crab soup. Well let me just say that the glowing reviews that we received concerning this restaurant did not do it justice. Our server was so friendly and warm and inviting. And we had an opportunity to meet the owner when he brought our food to the table and he was such a humble and quiet man. My husband and I instantly fell in love with the food and the staff and the owner all at the same time. They are such sweet people and truly truly truly understand the art of providing excellent customer service, maintaining a warm pleasant atmosphere and serving truly awesome and amazing food at reasonable prices. My husband and I cannot say enough about this restaurant and to truly intend to go back as soon as we are able!! And for those who are cheesesteak connoisseurs, my husband gives the cheesesteak five stars and five thumbs...
Read moreI love this food! Lol I have had many, many, many! Subs, pizza, fries, crab cakes ect. This tasty little place deserves my very rarely given two thumbs up! lol this place has taken simple everyday foods to the next level. I had a few buddies over for game night and we all decided to order from Roma's cafe - simple everyday meals were ordered - salads, fish fillet, subs, pizza, fries, crab cakes ect. The food came quickly and even the delivery guy was supper pleasant and funny. All 5 friends and I were in awe that a simple fish sub tasted exceptional! Lol Fresh, seasoned, flaky moist huge fish on a buttery toasted garlic flavor sub role, fresh veggies and caramalized onions, perfect flavored crab cakes, fresh salad with pretty garnishes and my favorite the tasty pizza that was pipping hot and taste damn good! Lol even the fries were crispy and lightly seasoned, crab cake moist and flavorful, just right. My friends now only order from Roma's when they're over and sometimes ask me to order for them and bring it into work for them since they live in an area that Roma's doesn't deliver too lol plus the prices a dirt cheap compared to the other over greasy, unflavored food that charge higher prices in the same vicinity. Sincerely your new loyal...
