My husband and I are always interested in supporting local businesses. Now more than ever, with so many restaurants closing their doors we want to help do our part to help the ones that are doing things right and deserve to stay open!!! After having a not so great experience with another Mexican restaurant we were a little gun shy to try another so soon. However, this place has caught our eye on numerous occasions when we’d pass their packed outdoor patio full of smiling faces. So we decided to give it a try since we were in the area. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t agree with us that day and sitting on the patio didn’t sound like a pleasant experience, so we opted for inside. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a warm and inviting interior with smiling (with their eyes since they were masked up) employees ;-) We were seated right away and I can’t say enough about the friendly service! The food didn’t disappoint either and they happily kept our, drinks, chips & salsa filled. We were never left trying to waive a waiter down because they were so attentive it made our experience so delightful for more than one day! The food was in good portions which allowed for a delicious leftover lunch the following day. Another great bonus was the price!! You definitely get your money’s worth and you won’t break the bank enjoying a delicious family dinner!! Do yourself favor, the next time you have a craving for Mexican food give Salsa’s Mexican Cafe a try!! You won’t be disappointed…I know we are already planning...
Read moreWe went here on a Tuesday evening for dinner. I had not been to a Salsa's in at least a year, probably, so I didn't really remember what they had other than fajitas.
I would prefer spicier salsa at the start (this one was probably mild and I like medium), but everyone else that was with me liked the salsa like that. I didn't want to fill up on chips and salsa, though, so it was fine. My companions also ordered a seafood dip that was cheese-based, I think. It was very runny, but they all enjoyed it. It had shrimp and scallops in it. I'm glad they gave us extra napkins at the very beginning!
I got the seafood salad. It was surprisingly filling and had plenty of shrimp and scallops in it. I like that it was in a tortilla bowl, too. The main thing I would say is that the pineapple in it is disappointing and maybe should not be included, since it's very obvious that it's canned pineapple tidbits and they don't really add anything to the dish.
One of the other people with me got some kind of chicken soup that looked really really good, and the others got chimichangas that also looked good.
The waitstaff seemed very attentive and a couple of different people asked if we were ok...

The prices are quite reasonable and the food portions generous. The kids menu selections were a flat $5.50 and included Mexican fare as well as hamburger/fries and hot dogs.
We ordered the fajitas, enchiladas and burritos. Unfortunately, this is where the disappointment began. The food was lacking in flavor and did not match the pictures in the menu. Stringy chicken, mushy beans and the salsa was more of a tomato paste (no actual tomatoes).
Since the time was so close to closing, we just packed most of the meal to-go. However, once home, no one was interested in the leftovers. The fajitas turned out better once I doctored them up with some pineapple-mango salsa that I had on hand.
Unfortunately, can't recommend based on the disappointing...
