Sugar Doodles — Restaurant in Maryland

This review is long overdue! Last year my wife and decided to buy an RV and travel the country after I received a life saving liver transplant. Our friends from Kent Island was raving about this place and their ice cream so we decided to visit. It was late and the door was unlocked so we went in and realized they had just finished cleaning and were about to lock up. The owner and her daughter were so friendly and told us no worries what would you like and proceeded to serve us. Yep! it was amazing ice cream and even better when its served by such a nice family business.

Fast Forward...... I then went to visit Ocean City for a few days and returned to Kent Island to stay with our friends again and yes we went back to Sugar Doodles! The four of us must be a little daft as the same situation happened again and I swear by accident, lol, really how embarrassed were we. This time the door was locked and we turned away only to turn around and be greeted by the owner who laughed with us again and invited us in. My wife and I traveled 28 states and are back home in Florida and I would be remiss if I didn't share this story and how this family stood out amongst the hundreds of people and business's we visited across America from Bar Harbor Maine to Chico, California.

I wish this family so much success not just because of their ice cream but because they were such a beacon of light among the struggle of owning a small business in such a trying...

had such a wonderful experience at Sugar Doodles Ice Cream Shop! From the moment we walked in, John made us feel incredibly welcomed. He was warm, friendly, and went out of his way to make sure our visit was outstanding. It's not every day you get that kind of customer service, it truly made our day!

The ice cream? Out of this world! Every flavor we tried was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. But the real surprise was the bubble waffles, it was our first time trying them, and we are absolutely in love! They're fun, tasty, and the perfect match for the ice cream.

The shop itself was spotless and had such a fresh, clean scent throughout. It’s clearly well taken care of, which makes enjoying your treat even more pleasant.

As a dog lover, I can’t get over how cute it is that they offer treats for dogs too! I’ll definitely be back soon, not just for more amazing ice cream, but to grab a doggie birthday treat as well.

A huge bonus: they sell Smith Island Cake, which you can only get in Maryland. If you haven’t tried this delicious layered cake, you're missing out, John says it’s a must have! We will be trying that cake also the next time around.

This place has delicious ice cream that they get from a dairy in Delaware that’s apparently oh and award-winning ice cream dairy. The only problem is they only have one chocolate ice cream and that’s just plain chocolate. Most of their other ice cream‘s or vanilla base personally I like chocolate ice cream and I wish they had dark chocolate, chocolate marshmallow, chocolate chocolate chip, dark chocolate chocolate chip, double chocolate chocolate chip, Chocolate chocolate almond, and any other thing that you could throw in with chocolate or dark chocolate but for some reason they don’t think people like chocolate ice cream I guess. So hopefully they’ll read this and get a few more flavors in and get rid of some of the kiddie flavors that they have. I don’t go as often because I’m just not crazy about all the flavors but it really is...
