It's my first visit, and I would like to remark that the length of time the person took to take my order—which wasn't complicated at all—has absolutely turned me off. It appears that the individual may not have received proper training, which is unfortunate given the recent vacancy. When I asked for the online Taco Tuesday deal, the person suggested that it might only be available online. She had to go get assistance. I chose to place my order in person for this reason: the taco Tuesday special doesn't let you select the same flavored tacos online, but it seems to be the same in person. Initially, the person taking my order had stated that they had to put different kinds of tacos because there was no other way to make them all the same. I then suggested that she simply go to the cooks, who were right behind them, and tell them to make them all the same, and she agreed to put that suggestion in the notes. Please improve this feature for the sake of your customers. Second, I was informed that birria tacos are only available in sets of three, so your only choice is to purchase sets of three. This is just one more thing that makes me dislike this business; I've been to a lot of locations where you can get birria tacos at for any number and they charge you per taco not make you purchase in sets of three. There was a line forming since the person taking my order for the Taco Tuesday special had to go ask someone else for assistance. It appears that there is only one kiosk because other staff members were stocking a cooler with drinks right beside the person taking orders but it didn't look like anybody else could accept orders. The clerk restocking the beverages stops the last person in line as she goes to place an order, telling her to wait a moment. The female taking orders was directed to acquire a mop by the girl restocking the drinks. Considering that there was a line and the customer had to wait a while to get to the front, I found this to be a little absurd. If moving the mop was really so necessary, she could have stopped filling up the cooler and done it herself. You would assume that the customer comes first and that she would have let her to accept the last person's order. This struck me as being very unpleasant to the customer. My food was horribly packaged. My meal was jammed into a single plastic bag, which caused the birria consume to leak. I should’ve received two different bags. The decor is lovely, the ambiance is tidy, and the meal service didn't take too long. There is flavor in the food. The al pastor tacos were slightly overdone. The birria tacos themselves are excellent; the consume is okay. Even though the food was delicious, I'm not sure whether I want to visit again in person. I would choose only pick up if they made improvements to their...
Read moreThe new location is nothing short of amazing! My fiance and I went for their grand opening and was greeted with warm smiles and a great atmosphere.
We ordered 8 tacos, shrimp, lengua, and Al pastor, and an Agua fresca. The food did not take too long to make and before we knew it, these delicious tacos were placed on our table. The server who brought out the food was very nice — she even offered us plates without asking. The tacos were glowing; they were like little tortillas made of gold that were beckoning at us to be eaten.
We started with the shrimp taco, and they are out of this world! There are 3 large shrimp per taco, but they're seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. I have not had better shrimp tacos anywhere else. This is a fact. We then tried the lengua tacos, and a lot of taco spots just don't get it right. Bear in mind, this isn't just one of those regular taco spots, this is THE taco spot.
The lengua tacos were scrumptious! They were so tender and full of flavor I couldn't help but devour it all and melt away from pure bliss, like that day's scorching heat.
Al pastor tacos were last on the list. and when I tell you they were a great way to end the taco feast, and I mean it in the most honest and positive way. The most beautiful combination of grilled meat and pineapple is unmatched.
There's a special type of tacologist that can truly make very good, tasty tacos. The cooks/chefs of tacos a la Madre are absolute masterminds at what they do. They know how to make some of the best tacos I've had in the entire DMV. This is also a fact.
If you're ever in the area, and you're craving authentic, delicious tacos – do not second guess your decision to eat here. This place is like no other, and will forever be my go to...
Read moreI ordered a California burrito about a week ago. It was really good except that the asada that was a bit tough (overcooked maybe?) and there were a few large pieces of just fat or cartilage. Today I decided to order something different so I ordered a Carnitas burrito and 2 Asada tacos for my toddler (with cilantro onions and salsa on the side). I picked Up my order and headed home. As I was about to eat, I cut the burrito in half and noticed that they gave me Asada then pull out the tacos to find They’re covered in onions and cilantro. I’m sure there are other other dishes that are great unfortunately I didn’t get to try anything new today and was not pleased with the I asada I had in my burrito once again. I also had to cook my son some thing else for dinner since he was unable to eat his tacos. What a waste of time and money. I called them about three times to bring it to their attention, but they didn’t answer the phone. It’s 6:44 in the evening and I know that they’re...
