so-so place with good write ups on Google reviews- no real decor, a big high ceiling open area like a bingo hall- bar front is corregated metal wrap, bar surface the cheapest stained plywood. Small selection of beers for a "tap house". The wooden rack placard on the wall with the written beer type, alc % content, etc, was only about a quarter filled- I've seen much smaller places with 3x or more craft beers. Not much for a menu- burgers, Naan pizza and some apps- I had two Indian appetizers- one was mostly fried pastry dough with tasteless filling, the other heavily fried with filling and mostly crumbled deep fried bits. The only thing that gave either taste was the spicy dipping sauce. There are two small TV's in the extreme upper corners of bar, useless for watching a sports game.I realize there arent too many good pubs in the area, and even less "tap houses", and they have a trivia night and taco night that might be good- but 4.6 stars avg in Google reviews- no way. The front between the restaurant was an attempt to make a nice outside sitting area, but it's half a stone throw from the highway. The open areas and building surrounding them all have a disjointed cheesy look. I...
Read moreThis place gets five stars (six if I could) for the beer selection and bar menu. The bar service is also five stars, the table service is probably a four. The atmosphere gets a three when they are busy because under those conditions it is just a tad too loud for me, the way the conversations and noise echo through the place it's difficult to have a conversation. But really that's only when they're especially crowded, late happy hour/early dinner time frame. For a bar menu it's really nice, with the Indian restaurant being next door there's a creative variety of things including a number of vegetarian options. But seriously, the beer selection is top-notch and they go out of their way to find unusual and rare finds which are enjoyable to try. I've been able to try more unusual beers here than anywhere else. I like a wide variety but particularly IPAs and they don't disappoint with their IPA selection, both the regulars and the rotating rare finds. An added bonus is the Indian restaurant next door is very delicious, with a wide variety of options on the menu and good wine selection too. If you feel like having a full dinner after a beer or two then you only have to...
Read moreGreat place. I went at night and didn't get food but I did see those wings and wow they looked and smelled amazing. What was a pleasure was the atmosphere. We went and saw a local band play. We gor there and it was packed. But the seating and spacing was good enough to accommodate. My ONLY issue. Was they really need more bar tenders on heavy nights. Now on to the couple bar tenders they had. They were like chick fil a drive thru. The line could be long but it moves faster than a ln empty McDonald's line. These bar tenders knocked it out of the park. And they had someone assist taking orders on a handheld in the bar proximity and would bring your drinks shortly after. This made up for the number of staff behind the bar. However. The bar seats full. There's no real spot to go to walk up and order. At the same time. That small space there was. Didn't get too crowded because of the great bar tenders and the assist from the foot soldier taking orders.
Outside is a nice sitting area with some heaters and fire pits.
I like nice bars. I'm picky. Some people like hole in the walls. I don't. This...
