The Cafeteria — Restaurant in Maryland

I am not a huge fan of Chinese food in general, as I think the menu's are not very descriptive , and I am sometimes disappointed in what I end up with. For example "in brown sauce". Am I supposed to know what that means? However, there was a dish that I really liked at Fuji, it was the the Salt Shrimp. Previously,they would make it for me even though they removed it from the menu. Last night I was told the chef refused to make it. Not couldn't, but refused. This was my go to Chinese place, within walking distance, and I was a loyal customer, I told others that they should help support this local business. I also spent a fair amount of money at the restaurant during the course of a year. Guess I will have to find a new place. Very disappointed! UPDATE - The manager Tina called, and apologized profusely, Evidently there was someone new answering the phone, that did not quite understand my order. Tina obviously cares very much about the satisfaction of her customers. I do recommend the food, and maybe even more so, Tina. I will try again...

The trick to this place is ordering right. They do have some dishes on their menu that I believe were probably added to make the menu longer, and they don't exactly do them well. But I've been here 20 to 30 times and only ordered those poorly executed meals maybe twice. Every other time the food has been generally good, if not great. I have eaten sushi from almost every place around the area and I think theirs is best overall. The eel avocado roll is delicious and the best eel sushi I've had.

I'm not pretending that this place is better than big city restaurants, but for around the hagerstown area, the sushi is the best and the chinese dishes are good. I got veggie rolls and black boba tea. The rolls were super yummy, a lot of flavor and very crispy. The tea itself was also very good, lightly sweet with a good balance of milk, however I agree that the boba pearls are just ok. I believe they are the prepacked type you get online and add water to, very rubbery with an odd aftertaste. Personally I dont really like them myself but I've hear people that do. I ordered fairly close to closing time though so it's very likely they used the artificial boba due to not having the regular kind in stock. I've seen reviews that say thry got regular chewy boba instead of the rubbery type. Just something to note if you order close to the closing time.
