Was driving around with some friends and happened across Uncle D's Grill. Looking over the prices, definitely seemed the normal prices for a barbeque restaurant. Service seemed fine except the order was lacking one sausage link. Upon further examination, what is considered a side at this establishment doesn't constitute as more than a serving of their sauce. Literally two fork fulls of coleslaw or two tablespoons of beans. The coleslaw is alright, the beans delicious, but extremely overpriced. I ordered the uptown combo which is their large rib tips with a sausage link and also got a two link combo. As I said in the beginning, they forget the link that comes in the uptown combo. I've had many rib tips before but this is the first time I've seen anyone chop or cut up rib tips before. It kind of looks like to me that they chopped up some ribs trying to pass them all off as rib tips, because there is definitely some rib bone in the mix. On top of that they fan it out trying to make it seem there is more than there actually is. In addition, I do not see any line in the near that indicates that the smoke has penetrated the meat. It is just straight dry. I have to say the experience was a disappointing one. If you're trying to get the amount you get at other barbeque places, do not come here. Price does not match the...

Ordered some seafood, brisket, and the "301" combo, which is wings, sausage, and ribs with a side of fries, baked beans, and collard greens.
I was not prepared for how delicious and juicy the brisket was. I lost my composure and got lost in the feeling of being at a family bbq. The ribs were just as savory, with the right amount of seasoning and pictures don't do it justice. The wings were the best I've had in a long time and didn't need any sauce. I also ordered the fish and shrimp for later but sampled them at home. Both the fish and shrimp are seasoned just right and fried perfectly. The sides are just as good as the rest, but I enjoyed the collards best. There are peach or apple cobblers, but I did not order them this time, as I had plenty of food for lunch and dinner.
Based on this first order, I will be going back here more often for the wonderful food and decent price.
If you love bbq and haven't tried Uncle D's, I highly recommend you give it a try. They also have catering options for those who need to feed a family or...
Read moreVisited around 2pm on Friday. The atmosphere upon walking in was awesome. It reminded me of weekend barbecues with the family. Good music and the smell of a grill master at work. I got the ribs, collards and fries. It came with some homemade barbecue sauce on the side. When i looked at the ribs I could see that Uncle D knew what he was doing. The smoke ring was very apparent. And the flavor and tenderness was perfection. The meat came off the bone perfectly! I did not use the barbecue for the ribs at all. You could taste the seasonings and barbecue flavor embedded by the low and slow technique. And the collards were so good. They were seasoned and had a hint of vinegar flavor. They were like Glory greens (if you know you know) but with an Uncle D touch. Overall, I am glad I stopped in. I will be back for lunch and dinner and recommend anyone looking for authentic low and slow barbecue to give them a try. Plus, it's always good to support and a veteran...
