Decent food, i wouldnt go as far as saying homecooked or "famous" when its store bought. The hostesses were nice and friendly and a little bogged down by helping the wait staff(not sure if part of their job description or not). Our hostess took our drink order and brought it back promptly after helping another member of the waitstaff, she then said someone will be by in a minute to take your order. Totally fine and understand that process but here is where things shifted, my family and I then sat there to wait 15 mins until the waitress came by to introduce herself and get our drink order, so after telling her we had our drinks and we were ready to order she said ahe would be right back after running food to another table. Now after waiting the 15 mins to meet her it was another 5-8 mins approximately till she returned to take our order and she then acted like we were unconvincing of her time because she was busy. So we placed our order and asked for a bread basket with my salad that comes with my meal, she said no problem.......15 mins later still no salad and no bread basket. So my wife asks the hostesses that were so nice in the beginning and they said they would get those items for us, literally by the time my wife sat down and had told me they were on there way they were showing up with a bread basket and my salad. Then right on top of that our dinner arrived leaving no room for anything because the timing had all been thrown off, the next best thing about that is that the hostesses brought out our food as well, not our server. We then decide to eat our meal but have no refills on our beverages and are now thinking its just best to leave at this point and head home. We still havent seen the server since our food order but she has time to go talk to tables and sit in a booth with some "friends" im assuming and ignore her paying customers. (I can understand if your on break or something like that but just let me know, just dont avoid me or not tell me). So from there we need boxes and our bill so we can leave.....she is still just wandering around aimlessly it seems, catch the hostess again she brings boxes and the bill and lets me know i have a desert i told her no thanks i just wanted to leave, she says ok ill take your mother's jello and give it to you as a desert so you dont have to pay for it, I say thats ok and thank here for helping us out. I then stand up to leave to pay the bill and now our waitress comes over to give me the bill ( i already have one from the hostess) and asks us if we want any deserts because a few of our meals came with it, i proceed to tell her no unless i can put them in a carry out and she got snippy and said "they dont do that here." I say ok and that i dont need the bill because i got it from the hostesses and she huffed away in a tissy. Im now paying for my bill with the other hostess that watched the front while the other helped us most of the time, she asked if everything was alright and i could see the old man behind the counter over hearing the conversation and i said " decent at best, just a really long time to get anything." She then apologized and said that they had been busy all day and that it was busy when we were there (6 tables inside and i believe 3-5 outside on the patio), if thats your definition of busy im worried for your buissness because you had 6 or so waitresses walking around and 2 hostesses and a busser, thats 2 tables a person for waitstaff! Im in the service industry and can juggle more then that easily! So after this ordeal I dont know if i can eat there again, it was the same way the last time i tried the restaurant 4 years ago before i moved out of the area, now that I'm back i thought i would try it again but I dont think i can bring myself to do it again after this trip. There are plenty of other restaurants that can receive my business that are attentive to their customers and dont false advertise homecooked or "famous". TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE! If i was to say anything positive it would be that your patio is nice and hostesses...
Read moreI am not from the area. Was there due to a local high school game. We were hungry and decided to eat there since it was right down the street and had great reviews.
Our waitress was not too pleasant from the start. We were very patient with her. My friend was asking the waitress, her opinion and the waitress seemed annoyed by this.
The food for the most part was ok. My friend was not happy with her entrée and explained this to our waitress. The waitress then had a an attitude. My friend was not rude at all. She asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over with an attitude. My friend calmly explained how she was treated and the manager responded with "what would you like me to do?" My friend still calm, said "the waitress will not be getting a tip" at which the manager responded with "our tips get split" At that point we asked for the bill. My friend then asked for the managers name and she said I am the manager then with a snarky attitude said my name is on the back of my shirt and turned and walked away.
This being out first time there we did not expect to be treated this way. Looking around the restaurant all the other waitresses were very pleasant to their guest. I feel like we were treated differently because we were not from the area. Unfortunately will not be back and will not recommend this place to other folks who travel out there for their...
Read moreLarge eclectic menu. House made ranch with is definitely not anything like traditional- ranch fans beware. Try it before you douse it or regrets may be abundant. Hit or miss here. Have had the Greek gyro, excellent tzaziki sauce but the meat was clearly loaf born. Tasty but not great. Soups are decent, desserts look better than they taste. Full bar with is odd but cheers to that. The salmon patties are frozen from Save A Lot I'm pretty sure, but the Mac n cheese is delicious super creamy goodness. The chicken pita is my go to, reminds me of the Hani of days gone by. Service is friendly but majorly held down by what appears to be high school kids, take from that what you will. Clean restrooms. The outdoor bubble option is a cute novelty for cocoa with the Littles but if you order food they will carry it uncovered right out the door through the michigan winter to your dome. So order something you don't want even remotely hot-ish when it arrives. Will do in a pinch but not anyone I know says this is their favorite spot in town. Prices are a bit more than I'd expect in this type of place, but they are advantageous in their specials and menu offerings and I'm thinking that's where that comes in. The coffee is brought to you by the makers of Gatorade so don't pop in for a satisfying shot of caffeine if that's your plan choose...
