I had never been here before, but had been wanting to try it, for I love Thai food! One of my friends had just ordered a delivery for herself and it looked good. When I left her house I went there to place a carry out order, about 5:30pm. I saw, I believe, one table with patrons sitting down. I was greeted and before he asked me what I would be ordering, he immediately told me that it would be about a half hour. 🥴🙄 I guess that my business wasn't wanted cuz after a bit of a pause i told him "never mind, I wouldn't want anyone to hurry". I won't bother going back. After reading the reviews I think I did myself a service by leaving. I worked in the restaurant industry for about 20 years and I know to never turn away a potential customer, especially one that said she'd never been there before. THAT is a pivotable moment that a restaurant cannot get back. THAT is when you make sure that customer wants to come back and you hope they'll tell their friends about the courteous and prompt service and that the place went "out of their way" for your business. Shame on the owners for not teaching the basic way to earn someone's business. Someone who is inside your establishment is a promising/potential customer, someone who has already placed an order is already a customer, someone who is inside at a table and/or eating is already you're customer. If you don't "answer that phone, you will never receive that call" (in reference to carry out orders etc). You basically turned a potential...
Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed Spicy Thai. I've never had Thai food before - so I can't say whether or not it's authentic - but I can say it was delicious. As someone who consistently eats the hot wings at restaurants, I can also say it was definitely spicy.
I enjoyed the rice noodles, egg, lettuce, onion, and fried garlic in my kow theel gai noodles with chicken. It was a specific blend and flavor combination that seemed more reminiscent of Chinese food with a Thai spice twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My girlfriend had sweet and sour chicken and quite enjoyed her meal as well. I tried a bit of hers, she got mild spice, and it was definitely there and noticeable less than the medium spice I ordered. Her entree seemed great as well and appeared to be more traditional Thai - but that's only based on what I've seen in media.
My only concern is the lack of emphasis on sides. For $12 per entree, you do get a lot of food, but I'm left asking where my sides are. With our takeout meal, we received one ginormous scoop of white rice in a small takeout container. I'm not sure whose meal that even went with, or if it was both of our sides combined. There's no info on the menu either. I would want this to be more up front in the future.
Other than that, a nearly flawless experience with the food being ready before the estimated pick-up time on GrubHub and still being hot when we got there to pick it up. I'm...
Read moreI have been a Bangkok Cuisine Junkie for the past 30 years....I read everyones reviews before ordering here. I tried this place today and I ordered Pad Pak with Chicken, mild. I asked about their sauce at ordering and was assured it was the dark thai sauce. The portion was perfect and it came with white rice, 12.95. The spice is a lil over mild to be at Mild Level. The vegetables not so good, they were not fresh and crispy, the chicken was very very dry. My meal felt like Pepper Chicken with spice and I did not get the habenaros with the meal. The meal was mostly onions and peppers, 2 pieces of small broccoli, no carrots, 1 zuchinni, adequate bamboo shoots and water chestnuts, no mushrooms, no beans, no bean sprouts which is suppose to be there according to their menu. I asked for the napa to be left out. A few bamboo shoots looked like they were shared with "friends" prior to the order as there were cutouts in the pieces like circle and not straight edges. The gravy was pepper steak gravy with spice added and it was very watery.....it did taste like yesterdays leftovers. I ordered at 2:55pm and was told 15 minutes and it was ready at 3:10, staff was very friendly. Price per portion was spot on but this was not Thai Food this was Chinese with spice. When I get Thai food I look for the special veggies and the authentic thai sauce not just heat. Might try them again...
