Ivar's Seafood Bar — Restaurant in Marysville

Went to Ivar's to grab some quick dinner for me and my two children. I ordered the 5 piece spicy Cajun fish and chips, 3 piece fish and chips, the Halibut fish and chips, a large smokey salmon chowder and a large Coke. The bill total was 50 and some change. I absolutely love fish. So when I tell you that the taste of the food consisted of salty fries and the fish was super bland and dry then the chowder tasted like burnt salt. I do not mind telling you that I probably should of stuck with the regular chowder because I thought I was in for a treat when I ordered the smokey salmon chowder. Boy was I wrong. So wrong. When it was all said and done after I ordered and was getting ready to leave they forgot to give me my chowder. I had to ask them to get it for me. One thing I can say is that it was the bottom of the dish cause it was almost closing time when I came in. I do not know how long what they served me was in the hot bar but I am pretty sure it was there all day. It tasted burnt and salty like a salt lick. I could only take like 2 bites of it cause I almost gagged. The spicy Cajun fish was so bland and not spicy, at least to me it was not spicy, an it was so dry it took almost all my Coke to wash it down. The service I got was good and they were friendly and helpful. The store was clean and free of debris from what I seen. Was not really looking too hard at stuff but it seemed clean to me. I wish the food was better and had some more flavor to it...

I went there Aug 24, 2024 at about 6:30. Ordered a Full Boat. The food is good Except the Coleslaw. It used to to be sweet tasting. At this location that don't bring your food out to you anymore. Everytime that I get my food my fish pieces are the size of calamari fingers. I looked over at the other table that ordered a 3 piece and their's are bigger than mine. I get so sick and tired of having to go up to the counter and complain, demand the fish that I paid for. If you think nobody notices you are wrong. The prices are ridiculously high but all customer service has gone away completely. Rule #1. Don't serve the product if it isn't right. Put the correct weight of fish on the order!! Give us what we pay for. Customer Service. If you dont you'll go out of business. I was just looking through the reviews. 2 months ago another person compared the small pieces to chicken tenders! Come for the food but eat it dusty and dirty. We were trying to eat and the female employee was vacuuming while we're trying to enjoy our dinner. When I ask her to stop so we can enjoy our meal and keep flying dust out of our food. She gave rude look and left then came back with broom sweeping carpet throwing dirt in the air then acting like she's putting in dust pan. Complete revenge. So sad ivars gone down hill. Even the food is hardly anything and way over priced. One of my salmon pieces was thin like it was just coated skin. Never going back. Complained to corporate but fell on deaf ears. They dont care its all about the money. Do your self a favor there are many other restaurants that treat you better and serve...
