I don't like giving 'bad' reviews. I usually just keep my mouth shut. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. What I can say is that if you want "not very spicy" or tamed down for a specific pallet, they have it. If you want something upbeat and a bit more likely to set you on fire, this is definitely not it. Maybe you need to ask for it? The guacamole was creamy like mayo. Not quite my thing. Everyone is different so don't read too much into my opinion. I like chunky and stuff that gets up into your face with its attitude and this is not it.
What I can say that is clearly positive is that they are well-meaning and they are very customer oriented. Their servers are very polite and the kitchen seems to be fairly quick. DO not NOT try them because of my review. If you want "milder" this is definitely in your wheel house. I want "spicer" so YMMV (your mileage may vary)
Lastly there is no restaurant that hasn't been under the order of death in recent months. I encourage everyone to try all of them to find out what they like and find the ones that they love. I try every new (to me) restaurant that I find because I want to do what I can to help them out.
We owe it to them and there is no business that costs more or is more likely to fail than a restaurant. Imagine working 15+ hours per day 7 days a week and getting nothing in return.
I salute my Acapulco staff and management, but it isn't quite what I'm looking for. Someone else may love it, so I don't want to be the guy who says don't try it simply because it wasn't...
Read moreWe visited on a Sunday afternoon. My husband is almost totally blind so I have to assist getting him to his seat, and the waiter was very patient ( as well as observant). As our order began to come to the table, the waiter/server took the time to let my husband know the placement of his plate, utensils, glass, etc. I usually do this for him, but this showed such kindness and respect! We both had the chimichanga dinner, which was delicious, also shared a dessert. We only get to eat out occassionally, this place will definitely be one of our favorites. It was clean, the food was very good, nice ambiance, but most important , the server was exceptional, showing kindness as well as being a great server. Definitely check this place out if you...
Read moreThe food was good. The portion sizes seemed smaller than most Mexican restaurants. We always have enough to take home a doggy bag for the next day's lunch. But, we didn't have any extra food here. The complimentary chips and salsa were really good. The happy hour beer selection and prices were very good. Our server and the service were great (though it should be noted that we were the only diners in the restaurant at the time). The prices seemed a bit high. But, who can even tell anymore? All restaurants seem so expensive. We ordered what seemed to be the lowest price entrées and they were $14.99 each. Note that the Arroz con Pollo did NOT come with the usual three tortillas. I found that a bit odd. Overall, this is a pretty good...
