Cincinnati Food Recommendations Part 2!

Step into Zundo Ramen & Donburi in Mason, Ohio, and brace yourself for a rollercoaster ride of flavors that will leave your taste buds bewildered—in a good way, of course. This unassuming restaurant has managed to pack a punch in its dishes, proving that appearances can be deceiving, just like that time I thought I could survive a ghost pepper challenge. Zundo's menu reads like a novel, with a plethora of ramen and donburi options that could make even the most decisive person break a sweat. As you navigate through the sea of choices, you'll start to wonder if you're ordering dinner or attempting to solve a complex mathematical equation. But fear not, because the staff is there to guide you through the maze of noodles and toppings, armed with their encyclopedic knowledge of the menu. Let's talk about the ramen, shall we? The noodles are a work of art, cooked to perfection and making you question your own life choices when you realize you've been eating subpar instant noodles all this time. The broth is a symphony of flavors that will have you sipping it like it's the elixir of life. And those toppings? They're like the supporting actors that steal the show, with tender pork belly and perfectly boiled eggs that deserve their own standing ovation. Now, onto the donburi dishes. These bowls are a sight to behold, like a Picasso painting made of food. The generous portions will make you question whether you accidentally wandered into a food competition, but fear not, for you're in good hands. The ingredients are fresh and vibrant, each bite offering a symphony of flavors that will make your taste buds throw a party. The staff at Zundo Ramen & Donburi is a breed of culinary enthusiasts who are more than happy to school you in the art of Japanese cuisine. They'll patiently answer your questions and recommend dishes, all while maintaining a poker face that could rival a professional poker player. But hey, their dry humor is just an added bonus to the whole experience. As for the ambiance, Zundo embraces the minimalist approach, where less is more. The simple decor and cozy atmosphere let the food do the talking, allowing you to focus on the flavors and forget about the world outside. It's like a Zen retreat, except with ramen. In conclusion, Zundo Ramen & Donburi is a delightful surprise that will make your taste buds do a happy dance. So, if you're up for an adventure in flavors, head over to this unassuming spot in Mason, Ohio. Just be prepared for a dry-witted staff, dishes that will make you question your life choices, and an experience that will leave you wanting more—unless you can't handle the heat, in which case, stick to the mild options. Bon appétit!

First visit here was on 6/2/21. This location has been open 5 months to date. First and foremost - food was DELICIOUS! I ordered the Katsu Donburi and the spouse ordered Tonkatsu ramen. The pork in my donburi was breaded and was absolutely fantastic. It was juicy, flavorful and the breading was crisp. It came with garnish of pickled ginger and pickled daicon radish (both divine!), steamed rice, green onion and egg. The meal also included a side of delicious miso soup. I had leftovers and mindlessly walked out, leaving the box on the table. I was disappointed because Iwas looking forward to having the leftovers for lunch the next day! The Tonkatsu ramen was also incredible. This is usually my favorite ramen, but since my spouse ordered that, I went a different route for my meal to get a variety of dishes. The broth was to die for! It was rich, flavorful and delicious. The noodles were al dente which is just how I like them. The egg was soft boiled and I belive marinated in soy sauce. This dish included several pieces of thin cut pork, pickled ginger & green onions. The one thing about this dish that I wasn't a fan of was the smoky flavor of the pork, but that's personal preference. I don't like smoked food in general, but my spouse enjoyed it. We ordered appetizers of shumai and cashu buns. Both were delicious! Staff was super friendly and appropriately attentive. Loved the music they had going and the atmosphere was very clean and modern. We will be back, and soon!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zundo Ramen & Donburi, and I must say it was an excellent experience. The food was simply outstanding; every dish I tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that I had a memorable dining experience. The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and it was spotlessly clean. The service was also incredibly fast, with my food arriving promptly after ordering. The menu offered a wide range of delicious options to choose from, catering to different tastes and preferences. Another positive aspect was the ample parking available, making it convenient to visit. Additionally, Zundo Ramen & Donburi had excellent accessibility for individuals with disabilities and provided comfortable seating options. Even though I visited in the late afternoon on a midweek day, the restaurant was not busy, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable meal. I highly recommend Zundo Ramen & Donburi to anyone looking for great food, outstanding service, and a...
