Vinny the server/bartender was completely rude and disrespectful to my friends. Not a friendly environment.
This was disappointing as this is a bar me and friends have frequentend for the past few years. We would come here often in the summer to hangout, get some drinks, and play volleyball/do the pool table. I was excited to take some out-of state friends here as well and have a good time. But the way the server was on a complete high-and-mighty power trip was insane and has completely changed my perspective on this establishment.
This situation occured because he couldn't recognize out of state IDs and didn't want to scan them. I get people don't like "being proved wrong", but to not own up to your mistakes is one thing, but to treat people as "less-than" because you made a mistake is another. Especially since as a server/bartender, you are literally the face and interaction to speak on behalf of the company values and morals. He kicked us out for "fake IDs" and the owner interacted with us on the way out to scan them. The owner confirmed they were real IDs, and when addressed to the bartender, the bartender lied and told a made up story. I get how he may have been embarrassed or wanting to save-face for his disrespectful treatment. Good job security for him to make up a lie on the spot than admit that he made a mistake and caused a scene. I mean, from the owners perspective, who are you going to believe, a group of people you don't personally know or your employee.
However, it looks like this isn't an isolated incident as another reviewer from NC had something similar happen with the same server as well a little while back. To have the same situation happen multiple times and not be addressed by management is astounding. It sends a message to customers that this behavior is condoned. Seems like this guy doesn't understand how to read out-of-state IDs in general and gets a thrill on not scanning them and tying to kick people out because "their ID is fake" when it's not.
Super disappointing, will never spend money here again. There are too many quality bars that offer similar amenities around the area to go somewhere with rude and...
Read moreGood: Ability to play on sand volleyball courts, talented guitar player
Bad: Unprofessional staff, poor customer service, disorganized sand volleyball leagues, uninformative website
Drastic improvements need to be made to their customer service. If you intend on playing in one of their sand volleyball leagues expect a lack of coordination and unprofessionalism if you have any questions. Weeks into the season and a full game time schedule has not been sent out. Good luck if there is bad weather and you’re wondering if you are playing. On our day to play it had stormed all day. An employee was very hostile to a team member of mine who called and asked if the games were canceled. They were told very aggressively to stop calling and asking so many questions.
I had seen people bring in outside food and no where on the website did it say outside food was prohibited. Also it should be noted I couldn’t even open their menu online to see what food they had available. When I was eating a small meal I brought in the waitress said “you can’t bring in food.” I asked her what she would like me to do and she said “I don’t know but you can’t have it.” I tried to quickly finish my half eaten meal. She came up again quite hostile and said “you’re going to get me in trouble.” The polite and professional thing to do would have been to advise that outside food is not allowed but I can finish the food since I had already brought it in. Instead it was an awkward, hostile and unprofessional interaction. Since then I have seen many others bring in food and nothing is ever said to them.
I will advise others to be cautious if they are deciding to give any type of...
Read moreI came here trying to enjoy a night with my friends however I revive nothing but racist and gals accusations against me. I came in and bought a drink through a female bartender with no issues. I wanted to get another drink and i got the bartender Vinny. I gave him my ID and he instantly said it was fake because it was from North Carolina without scanning it or putting the light under it first. I told him to scan it and he did but he than came back and said i was disrespecting him. Mind you i never said anything to him at that point. He bags cussing me out and saying mean things to me and telling me he doesn’t tolerate disrespect. I finally spoke up and told him im sorry but i have never experienced this before and I wasn’t trying to disrespect him i just want my drink. He then proceeded to threaten to call the police on me. He showed me his phone and he was calling 911. I was honest super shocked because he let my 2 other friends get drinks but he assumed my ID was fake before checking it and claiming I have an attitude when I said nothing to him is crazy. He kept threatening me and I was just in shock. I tried to talk to another member of staff but they denied me service. He ended up causing a scene and kicked me out. This is was first time at this bar by the way. Im traveling from North Carolina to spend time with friends. What a terrible experience. I really hope you all revalue who you are hiring and never discriminate. This made me feel unsafe and very scared. I really want trying to do better disrespectful to him that’s why I didn’t say anything. I hate this place and you all shouldn’t go. It...
