What a yummy lunch at Walrus & Captain in Mattapoisett!! We each had, Aperol Spritz - Aperol, Prosecco, Club Soda, Slice of Orange Walrus Panini - Port wine slow braised beef short rib, carmelized onions, arugula and cheddar cheese on sourdough bread with homemade sweet potato fries (this was the best sandwich I’ve had in a VERY long time) And shared a Ned’s Açaí bowl - banana, strawberry, almond butter, cacao nibs, granola, coconut flakes and honey drizzle Wow, wow, wow the flavors were incredible!! and service was really wonderful too......I have to say I enjoyed the outdoor dining and the great traditional 40’s/50’s pop playlist........What a local gem!!

Went here on a Saturday night..they did have outdoor dining with heaters.. Also live music.. We dined inside due to the weather.. Food was good.. Nothing that was fantastic.. The drink i had was awful bit in their defense im not big on vanilla tasting drinks i asked the waitress if it was over powering she said no.. It def was.. They still charged us for it even tho clearly seeing i did not drink it. Never offered anything else.. Not a huge deal breaker. But considering our meal came to about 100 for 2 ppl you would think they would of asked at least.. .

We discovered this little gem about a two years ago and have enjoyed every visit ever since! Finding a local gluten free restaurant isn't the easiest, but we struck gold with this one! Service is always superb and the food is pretty much perfect. Courtney K. served us today and she made our visit so much more enjoyable. She's super friendly and helpful, which we always appreciate. We got the Southwest Cobb Salad, California Bowl with the Salmon, Poi Parmesan Fries and Raspberry Almond Shortbread for dessert. All gluten free and all very delicious!

Second visit since their opening. First visit, we were not too impressed with the menu, which seemed odd. All menu items for dinner could be ordered as a wrap, a bowl, or plated traditionally. The drinks were good. Decided to try again after hearing that the menu has been updated somewhat. We sat at the bar and were greeted by the friendly bartender Caroline who quickly filled our drink order. Menu was much the same from our previous visit, but the daily specials offered some great alternatives. The three of us initially decided on the lobster roll, but were told that there was only one left. My wife and mom who were accompanying me opted for the cheeseburger, allowing me to have the last lobster roll. The two of them raved about the cheeseburger, stating that they would definitely be back. The lobster roll was lightly dressed with Mayo on a buttered, grilled hot dog bun. On the small side, but tasty. Recommend sitting at the bar rather than the tables that seem disconnected from the atmosphere of...

What a hidden gem!

Went here for lunch and was delighted with the food, service, and flexible seating options.

The food was outstanding. The vegetable soup was delicious and they have one of the best açaí bowls in the local area. My father in law ate his entire plate of fish and chips! It’s also impressive that there was only a 10-15 minute wait between ordering and service.

Staff were friendly and super helpful navigating the menu (loved the fact that they double checked ingredients for our known allergens). We easily made a reservation for patio dining with a party of 6, and were able to sit anywhere we wanted. Moreover, we were thrilled that we could bring our pup along. The staff even brought out a dog bowl, water, and some ice chips.

Will absolutely be...

I’ll make this short and sweet. Food was cold, for the second time in two days. Waitress brings food back to kitchen. Chef proceeds to throw a fit, yelling and slamming things in the kitchen. They microwaved my food and brought it back. I asked about the fit the chef had and the microwaving of my food and was confronted with, “ I’m not going to argue with you, either you want them to remake it or not. I stood up and stated that I had never been spoken to at a restaurant like that in 40 years. She then told me and I quote “ I think you’re being little dramatic. I contacted the owner with absolutely no response. Food is bland, portions are incredibly small. And clearly the service is entitled. Will not be back ever, and I suggest you...
