This is a quaint place for a great variety of coffee beverages; frozen, iced, hot by the cup My 'go to' every time is the iced coffee with hazelnut topped with a frothy whipped cream.
It's located at the far end of Terrace in Mayagüez, minutes from Town Center/ the Colegio.
Cafeína is labeled a Coffee & Pastry Bar, but you can also get sandwiches with three types of bread; Ciabatta,Croissant and bagel ( one person was eating a bagel with cream cheese next to me ).
My 'go to' sandwich is spinach with Muenster on a soft,flaky/buttery Croissant. It's lightly grilled, so the cheese oozes and blends so greatly with the spinach and subtle sweetness of the Croissant.
As for dessert; the finale of all finales -.A BROWNIE ! MADE LOCAL, IN CABO ROJO.
I was back and forth between that brownie or a lemon 'bite', bigger than a bite, but smaller than the brownie.
So, I ENDED UP BUYING THE LEMON BITE AS WELL, AND BOTH WERE EQUALLY DELICIOUS.
The waitstaff never fails to greet me, they are above and beyond in their service and enthusiasm.
One guy even hand wrote a few words of wisdom/an affirmation on my glass a couple of the times I went.
I could almost see him smiling behind his mask.
I'll let my pictures speak for themself.
My bottom line is; this place is ideal in every sense. You consistently get more than your money's worth and all of that in a comfy/homey, well air...
