Ricomini Bakery — Restaurant in Mayagüez

12/14/23 Lunch. While our friend's father was seeing the doctor, we ran to this bakery for cappuccino and a pastry. The bakery is a popular place, so it has a lot of foot traffic and was not very clean - but that seems typical for the island. The pastry was too sweet for us, but you can tell it was well made. It has a light cheese flavored filling next to a sweet cherry filling.

The cappuccino was excellent. The whipped cream they put on top was what you would find in a delicious pastry. Not sweet. Heavy and very dense. Delicious. The coffee itself was also excellent. 5-star delicious! Our coffee break was better than I expected today.

Excellent: Uniquely satisfying. A special place. Very Good: Better than expected. Average: An everyday experience. Just OK. Fair: Below par. Dirty smells....

This is one of the few establishments where you can find a delicious creole cuisine at a fair price. If you're not looking to go to a restaurant, but you're still in the mood for a classic Puerto Rican meal, you should definitely consider visiting. Please note that since this is a bakery, I am almost certain that their lunch options are not available all day. The closer to noon you go, the better. I'm not including any pictures because I was starving when I got there, so I ate my food before I even considered taking a photo. I'm looking forward...

This place is a landmark in Mayagüez. Totally worth the drive downtown. It may be tricky to order for someone not familiar with Puerto Rican pastries (may look like Italian pastries, but Puerto Rican pastries are usually sweeter and fluffier) becaue there are usually no labels or descriptions to go with each pastry or sandwich, but generally speaking, everyhting they do tastes good so window shopping and guessing by the way they look will most...
