Modo Mio Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in McAlester

I dont usually make reviews but here we are...We went to eat at a little after 8pm(8:15?) On March 19th but was turned away because "they were done serving"....they close at 9pm. There was other customers eating. Most food places wont turn customers away until 15 til their closing time. Even tried to make a to go order... I dont know if we will be back because I really like the food. Food has always been good. A while back I've made a comment to the owner about service because it really was that bad. I usually dont say anything but the incident was 1 girl was screaming loud enough for everyone to hear and what was said to another employee was bullying(the girl cried). Which the next time we were there i noticed the girl didnt work their anymore. I did mention it to the owner but they didn't listen or seem to care to much. Even asked about the girl and she said she is just a server that has no authority so that makes the situation worse. Owner: So if your still losing employees and/or money my comment is still valid even months later. Which means there's still only 1 person holding you back from being more successful. Still think you should get camers inside because apparently you're not believing people. Just because she's worked there or is family doesn't mean you have to keep her. Plus there's been other issues but I won't waste anymore time. Maybe this will open your eyes with my comment...

I usually trust google reviews, but I have no earthly idea how this place has so many good reviews.

First, this place was empty on a Friday evening; this was the first bad sign and should have trusted my gut. When I went in to get my food the lady made it seem like I was bothering her coming in and then proceeded to pull her shoes on, not wash her hands, and touch my togo order. But I was really hungry, and I figured at least it was packaged up already; poor judgement on my part.

Second, they have no idea that lasagna is layers of flat noodles; the dish closer resembled fettuccine with meat sauce.

Third, the garlic bread clearly seemed like it came from the frozen section at the grocery store.

Fourth, I got back to my hotel and they had included no cutlery with a to-go order so I had to run over to a fast food place and get some.

BUT all that could be forgiven had it not been for the hair that somehow ended up on my garlic bread that I didn't notice until halfway through my meal. At that point it all went into the trash.

Clearly quality and cleanliness isn't something this place values. I would tell anyone to avoid this place...

Decor was nice. Staff was friendly and polite. The rolls were old and tough as if they had been reheated from the day before. Even the " fresh " ones. The marinara sauce for the cheese sticks we ordered was disgusting. The cheese sticks themselves had no flavor. My wife ordered the chicken parm and I ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. My wife did hers tasted like chicken that had been cooked then might before then reheated. The noodles had no flavor and were dry. My dish was dry and flavorless. When brought the our servers attention, she went to the manager who immediately yelled what the hell is it now!? When she came back to our table 10 min later, he response to me was there was nothing they were going to be able to do and would we like something else? I explained that since the food was inedible and made my wife nauseated that not only did we not want anything else but we wouldn't be paying for the food we'd already ordered, she just said ok no problem and walked away.
