The cajeta Empanadas are tasty with a good amount of filling, I just don't like that they are sugar coated, I'd prefer if they instead used crushed pecans on them for an extra flavor. They have breakfast tacos and they add big scoops of filling. The bacon and egg was really good, and so was the egg in salsa, I wouldn't recommend the chicharrĂłn prensado, it isn't good it's more like carnitas as I see a lot of different pieces of meat that already makes Not be prensado. Overall I would recommend for the breakfast tacos and their bread, the cooks are very friendly and so is the cashier's.

Great spot to get some sweets, they charge by the pound. Environment is friendly and store is kept very clean. Everything looks and tastes absolutely fresh! They also offer some breakfast tacos/items on their side kitchen- unfortunately I did not look into it in today’s visit but still a very awesome service they offer.

Same ol same ol nothing much has changed. We stop to check it out. It looks like De Alba's bakery. But with a few changes. Pan Dulce still looks good, and the serve breakfast which is a plus.

Update Feb 2024 - Still a disappointment. No flavor in anything, all you taste is sugar. No flavor at all whatsoever. I tried 3 types of cookie, 2 types of cake, a cream horn, and a pumpkin empanada. Just pure sugar, no flavors. No vanila, no chocolate, no anise flavors, nada. The pumpkin empanadas at HEB are much better. There was one cake with raisans that had flavor, but that cake was actually too much raisan flavor and of course a TON of sugar. And...I will say the pan de polvo cookie was good. But one good tasting item doesnt improve my review by much. Just so disappointed.

2023 - Every pastry I tasted had too much shortening or wayyy too much sugar. The pumpkin empanadas were a serious disapppintment, they had to have put sugar in the pumpkin mix, they were just awful. Their pink and chocolate cake was very moist and threrefore good, but the icing was just pure sugar. No strawberry flavor at all for the pink cake. The chocolate icing was better. Their cookies were awful. The $1.38 cookies at HEB are better. They are pure sugar, texture is really hard, just AWFUL. The maranitos tasted of pure shortening, and sugar, no chocolate flavor at all. If I wanted that much sugar. I could scoop it out of a bag of sugar myself and eat it. Where is the flavor? Flavor of vanilla, carrot, anise, chocolate?? A bunch of sugar doesnt make a pastry good. Are they purchasing subpar ingrediants? If they were better, I would gladly pay $7/lb for pastry, but what they are offerring is way off the mark of what good pan used to be...

The cashier was rude and disrespectful when I asked her why was she charging taxes when paying with food stamps, she replied " well we do here with or without food stamps we always charge taxes" I told her it's illegal to be charging taxes on food that is bought with government money, she proceeded to argue with me saying it was the owners request to be charging taxes even if paying with government money, this is beyond rude and unprofessional for workers to be arguing back with the customer over an issue that IS true and should be followed by an established where food is...
