I was really excited to try this place out, unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The menu looks good with a good variety very impressive and pricey so with that said I was expecting a lot of food with good cuts but unfortunately the complete opposite. We ordered the pork belly for $27 and the ribeye for $42. We also order gyozas and a sea food pancake that never made it to the table. I was under the impression we were gonna cook our own meat which is usually very very fine slices but in this case it was just chunks of beef and big pieces of bacon instead of pork belly. At the end of the cooking done by the waiter my serving size couldn’t be any larger than a kids portion meal. The service if you can call it that was non existent, once we were served we never saw our waiter again not until I asked for the check in which it took for ever. I was ready to get out of there. Im being a little harsh but if you pay top dollar I expect top quality. I wish the owners best of luck they look like nice people but I’m probably not coming back. To their defense they did get packed soon after we got there so they were running...
Read moreIf you’re looking for authentic Korean food, Bon Galbi is the one! The menu offers a perfect mix of traditional dishes and Korean BBQ, all at very reasonable prices.
I ordered the Galbitang (beef short rib soup), and it was outstanding, rich, flavorful traditionally made beef broth with tender beef ribs, radish and noodles. It came with seven delicious side dishes (regular kimchi, cucumber kimchi, spinach, bean sprouts, fish cakes, tofu, and beans) along with rice, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. To complete the experience, I enjoyed some Jinro Fresh Soju; the perfect pairing!
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can feel the authenticity in both the food and the setting. The owner and her staff are absolutely amazing, making you feel like family. Special shoutout to Adrian, who did an excellent job with his service!

Read moreWe were excited to have Korean BBQ in the RGV. Bob Galbi did not disappoint. We had goyoza, jabche with beef, BBQ chicken (made extra spicy), yukgaejang soup and fried rice. Our main entrees were marinated beef short ribs and ribeye (brought to the table as a 1/2 thick slice of steak). Hot coals were brought to the grill to begin the cooking process. The sides...let me tell you about the sides-they are delicious! Kimchi cucumbers, kimchi, a delicious salad, fried tofu...I could go on and on but I really didn't know what everything else was called . It was all delicious! Everything is fresh and served very nearly-just look at the picture. We came here on a Sunday and it was very quiet. The building doesn't look like much, but it's clean. It can be pricey as the lunch specials are not available on the weekend. Our short ribs and ribeye were $42 a piece. The waiter said that in order to use the table top grill we had to order 2 meat entrees. So, if you're looking for Korean BBQ this is a...
