This was worst restaurant we have ever been to. This place shouldn’t even be allowed to operate as a restaurant. This was the first time I’ve eaten at a sit down restaurant and didn’t leave a tip.
To start, we ordered the chicken karaage and this is when we should have known this was going to be a horrible experience. It wasn’t chicken karaage at all, rather fried chicken chunks. Japanese chicken karaage should have a light batter that is almost flash-fried. This was a deep fried piece of chicken. Which would have been fine if the chicken wasn’t RAW!!!!! I thought it tasted weird, so my wife bit into it and she spat it out right away as she noticed the chicken was completely RAW!!! in the middle. We told the waitress and she informed the chef who didn’t really offer an apologize. He offered to remake it, but we were disgusted at the thought of trying it again. My wife and I both got ramen dishes and we got pork buns for our 1 year old. The pork in the ramen and in the buns was AWFUL!! The pork was thin, hard, and tasted spoiled. The eggs inside the ramen were at least a week old, as there was strange discoloring and an awful taste to them. Even the bean sprouts were brown and tasted spoiled. I had a beef rib and it was annoyingly obvious that the rib was very old. It was cold and tasted far from fresh.
This place is serving old food to their customers without any concern for their wellbeing. If you get served raw chicken you’d think that the restaurant would go above and beyond to make amends. This seemed to be a common issue because the waitress didn’t seem phased by what we told her. Maybe all the food was spoiled because they were using leftovers from the week prior (we came the day after the new year), but this is still inexcusable.
Long story short, we left all the food on the table, left no tip, and went to Braum's to eat dinner. This place should literally reconsider their business practices. And don’t serve people spoiled and RAW!!!!! food.
Also, did I mention they served us...

I recently visited Hokkaido Ramen House with a few friends and we were all very impressed with the food. We started with the Miso Ramen, which was rich and flavorful. The broth was perfectly seasoned and the noodles were cooked perfectly.
For our main course, we ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, the Rainbow Roll, and the Salmon Nigiri. The Spicy Tuna Roll was delicious, with its perfectly seasoned tuna and avocado. The Rainbow Roll was a beautiful sight to behold, with its colorful assortment of fish and vegetables. The Salmon Nigiri was perfectly cooked and served with a generous amount of wasabi and pickled ginger.
We also ordered a side of Gyoza, which were crispy and flavorful. The Gyoza were a great way to start our meal and they helped to cleanse our palates between courses.
The service at Hokkaido Ramen House was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was happy to answer our questions and make recommendations.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience at Hokkaido Ramen House. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would definitely recommend Hokkaido Ramen House to anyone looking for a great Japanese dining experience in McKinney, TX.

I feel bad for leaving this review but the Ramen is not served well here. The Ramen tastes as if there were no seasoning whatsoever, diluted and cold, not hearty or savory at all(mind you, I ordered two different types, beef and pork). You can eat the Ramen as soon as it arrives to your table, that is how cold it is, not cold to the touch, but cold in the sense that it is not even lukewarm, as if it had been sitting out for 20 mins before they served it. The Ramen hardly comes with any broth. You can even see the photos and other people's reviews on here, you can hardly see the broth, if at all.
Here is the GOOD. The sushi is extremely good, like they should rebrand this establishment as a sushi place. On top of that, the sushi is very affordable for the quality you receive, surprisingly affordable. Although I have a quarrel with the Ramen taste, broth temperature and portion, the Ramen was very well done in terms of ingredients and quality. The noodles did not clump together, they were not over cooked or under-cooked either. The ambience and customer service make this place stand out. From the cleanliness, plating, dinnerware and servers, the place is a gem. I could understand why many people eat here, especially ordering sushi.
I want to like this place, the sushi alone is worth it, but the Ramen was very underwhelming. I honestly will return for the sushi, but I hope they read this and address the temp and portion of the broth, as I can understand the taste...
