RockStar Hibachi - Food Truck — Restaurant in McKinney

I was honestly super excited for this place to open that I would call every week to see if they had finally opened in Mckinney yet, but they would just tell me "next week" every time I called. So imagine my excitement when I called and they said they were finally open! I rushed down as soon as I could.

I was mostly excited for the "Rockstar Skewer Trio" as it reminded me a bit of Brazilian Espetinhos, so I ordered the Skewer Trio, teriyaki chicken and yakisoba. When they handed me the bag of food, it felt unusually light for the amount of food I was expecting. When I got home, I was IMMEDIATELY disappointed with EVERYTHING that I got. The teriyaki chicken was so dry and barely had any food in the plate. The yakisoba portion was tiny and tasted and felt like chewy rubber bands and the biggest disappointment was the Skewer "trio", that I only received a single Skewer (Albeit it did have 3 pieces of each meat) with the smallest pieces of meat I had ever seen, rather than 3 separate skewers full of meat as shown in the menu pictures. All of that for nearly $40! I ended up ordering take out from a different place and threw it all away.

I was in the mood to try something new and came across this food truck on Google. I was proud to see young entrepreneurs out here doing their thing, but I do have a few recommendations. The noodles had good flavor, but the portion was so small it wouldn’t even fill up my 8-year-old. The rice was hard, and from other reviews it seems like I wasn’t the only one who noticed that. I understand that some food may be prepared ahead of time, but both the rice and the side veggies were served cold, which was surprising. Teriyaki combo shrimp and steak Small portion as you can see. The rice was hard and bland. Tasted like nothing. Steak was overcooked and tough Not one thing on this plate had any flavor.
