What I Loved: They weigh their protein. This really makes them stand out from other fast-casual assembly-line model chains like Chipotle or even Cava (which uses a small cup to measure volume instead of weight), where portion sizes can be inconsistent.
The employees are very friendly, which creates a welcoming atmosphere. They greeted me the moment I entered, something you don’t see as often in this type of restaurant.
The food tastes great (almost)! The complimentary spicy mayo is a nice touch.
What Could Be Improved: Better storage methods after cooking. The brown rice had many dried, hard pieces, and I ended up not eating most of it. Brown rice dries out quickly if left uncovered after cooking. Better storage—like keeping it in a rice cooker or using a cover—could help. Chipotle seems to do this well.
Consider cost-cutting opportunities without compromising brand image. This location has a huge seating area, and I wonder how much that adds to costs. It’s not in an area with many office workers, so a big lunch rush seems unlikely. Reducing space could free up resources for worker pay/training, new product development, or other investments.
Better targeting of health-conscious customers. The plate’s balance of carbs, veggies, and protein is great, but there’s an opportunity to market to health-focused diners. I’d be okay with a smaller portion if it meant higher-quality chicken like free-range (if they already use it, they should advertise it). The extra cost could be offset by smaller portions and a more efficient...
Read moreAs many of my followers know I don't give five stars right off the bat. It's definitely earned. A lot of places I do rate end up being four stars just because they're pretty delicious but not my favorite. However, this place is taking the cake this week! When I lived in California for a few months, I went to a place called l&l Hawaiian BBQ. They always gave out large portions and the food was delicious. I really miss that place so I tried to come here in order to find that. I was pleasantly surprised how nice and inviting the entire building was. It's a very spacious room and feels very tropical. The staff is friendly and greets you when you walk in. While my order was being taken, I miss heard the woman behind the counter and she accidentally gave me meat that I could not eat. She was surprisingly very kind and started the plate over with the correct meats that I wanted. And that wasn't even half of it. The drink is delicious as well I highly suggest it. It tastes to me like a Sunny delight with a delicious guava background, but not the stinging sensation or the Tang that it Sunny D usually gives. The meats for fall off the bone and very juicy. The rice was well cooked and fluffy, and the macaroni salad was very flavorful. The portions were really great for the price. This meal is going to definitely feed two people or more. I'll definitely be coming back and bringing more family with...
Read moreI wish I could give 2.5 stars, but let's break it down.
Walking into the place, it felt eerie. The lack of patrons was matched by the staff's apparent lack of enthusiasm. Not a single greeting, just blank stares, and one employee with AirPods in – really?
Now, onto the food. The meat was the saving grace, flavorful and well-prepared. However, the sides were a letdown. The salad, which I was surprisingly upcharged for, was nothing short of disappointing.
One major concern was the quality of ingredients. The sauces and salad dressings tasted off, laden with cheap seed oils and gluten. Not what you'd expect from a place claiming to offer quality cuisine.
On a positive note, the restaurant was impeccably clean, which is always a plus.
In summary, an underwhelming experience. With some improvements in staff morale, ingredient quality, and side dishes, this place could definitely step up its game. I wish it...
