REVISED REVIEW.... -3 STARS
As mentioned in my first review (below) I was a strong advocate for this restaurant while restaurants were hurting during COVID-19 lockdowns. I ordered take out food several times during the pandemic from Uncork'd. Tonight was the first time my family and I ate in this restaurant in person....and our experience was downright poor.
The seating is so uncomfortable...what is with the small tables that are half booth and half chairs? It is so bad.. My family of 4 asked to move from a tiny round table to a larger oval table.... and the wait staff hesitantly said that it was an issue because the table we wanted was a table for 6 people. Luckily they agreed we take the somewhat larger table because I was seconds from asking for the manager. Customers should be comfortable....but don't think this is a priority at Uncork'd.
Speaking of the manager. I saw absolutely no manager or owner presence during the meal The wait staff was lazy and slow. That starts at the TOP.
The back corner of the restaurant is too dark. The decor is poor. And the music was too loud....granted the speaker was right above our tiny table.
As for the food.....the spinach dip lacked spinach oddly enough. It was extremely creamy, but could tell it was heavy on cream cheese. The stuffed chicken was dry yet was pink with red juices on the plate. Sort of odd I know, but my guess it was a stuffed chicken made hours if not a day before (underdone) and reheated after I ordered it. Also, they didn't give us a sharp knife to cut the chicken. Cutting the chicken with a butter knife was useless.
I'm at a loss here....and disappointed because this restaurant is so close.. However after tonight I need to lower my rating from 5 stars down to 2.
Picked up food this evening from Uncork'd...during the heart of the Coronavirus pandemic....everything was very good. They offer delivery and do their best to rush food where needed quickly. I urge the community to support this and other quality small local businesses during and after...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time that we ordered from Uncorked in McKinney. The first time the food was exceptional. Unfortunately we encountered a very bad experience tonight. It’s one thing to make a mistake, but when the manager Danny deliberately lies about the mistake is another issue. So at 6:24, we ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers online with a scheduled pick up time at 6:40. When my husband got home with the order we realized they gave us the wrong order. So I called and spoke with the manager and he assured us that the order will be remade. When my husband arrived at the restaurant with the bag in hand, he saw another guy and he saw the bag in his hand and said, “Wrong order?” and my husband said yes. The hostess asked the other guy to check our bag and he said that was the order they had and the hostess discarded his food and he was waiting on his fresh order. Our correct order was sitting there waiting on us, but it was not freshly made and it was the same order they gave to to wrong person. My husband took that order assuming it was our new freshly made order. It was not! It was the same order that was originally ordered and given to someone else that brought it back. When my husband got home we confirmed that it was not freshly remade. The buns were cold and soggy, the cheese was cold and even looked cold, and the meat was cold. I found in the bottom of the bag the ticket that was made with the original online order time. The ticket wasn’t even warm from sitting at the bottom of the bag! I called Danny again to let him know that we did not appreciate the lies and we will not eat there again and he was nonchalant and could care less! They gave my husband a $25 gift card but that will be a waste. I told him that we will not eat a cold order especially if they tried to give it back to us after it was handled by another customer! The hostess even admitted to my husband that they accidentally gave several wrong orders away...
Read moreI hate writing this review. This was my third time at Uncorked and the worst experience overall. This was my mother’s first time. We sat at the bar walking in just after two other women who also sat at the bar. An older man already seated immediately interjected himself in their conversation. He berated the female manger, the female bartender, interjected himself in a toast the two other women were having at the bar later on walking over to them startling them. They left immediately after finishing those drinks. He was several double shots (4) in the span of 45 minutes while not being cut off. We were served a good ten minutes after we sat after he’d been served twice. After two other men had been served at the bar, after a group of four women at the tables in the bar area walked out because they hadn’t been spoken to by anyone. The only saving grace was the wonderful Hispanic bartender who came in and finally passed us our simple carafe of mimosas, she offered us water and checked on us often. She had to endure crude remarks from the older man until he left with no help from management who’d left just prior. They said he was a regular and that’s just the way it is. We felt so sorry for the staff. I brought me mother here thinking it was a women centric environment, not to have her worry about a man over served on the road who literally asked the bartender if she’d taken he’s keys today. Do...
