Small place with maybe 4 tables and some counter seating, but the vibe is modern and manga! Extensive menu, terrific service, and the food is DIVINE.
I had the Taipei Hot Chicken, and it was cooked perfectly, the chicken tender, with tons of peppers and flavor. The portion was so generous, I was able to spread it out over THREE meals - an awesome value for the money! Egg rolls and crab Rangoon were standard and I would guess premade, so I would probably not bother with those next time. But all the soups and entrees tasted homemade, fresh, and were obviously made with high quality ingredients.
Everyone was so accommodating and courteous, the food came out fast, and the bathroom was without a speck of dust. Taipei Chinese Kitchen, which is a family owned and run business, has only been open not even a year, but if they keep up this food quality and service, they will be THE go-to takeout Chinese in the area - and good...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Taipei and, just like the first time, everything I had was simply the best recipe I've ever had for each dish. The coconut chicken was the highlight this time, and I can't praise it enough. It was exactly what you'd want if that dish sounds appealing to you. The chicken fried rice was also exceptional and complimented the coconut chicken very well. The fried wontons were a great appetizer and their dipping sauce was perfect with it. I brought home a large sesame chicken, which I shared with my dad, as well as chicken egg foo young, and the leftover fried wontons and fried rice. Their lo mein, egg rolls and spring rolls which I had last time are also pretty much perfect. I have come to the conclusion that if you want outstanding Chinese (both mainland and Taiwanese) food, friendly service, and a nice atmosphere to enjoy it in, then Taipei is the place to find that in the...
Read moreWe've ordered here twice. The first time wasn't bad, so we ordered again the same way. This time, they added a 20% tip to my pickup order. I was willing to overlook it despite it seeming shady. We got general tsos with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and egg. The general tsos was prepared differently than it was prior. The eggs were burned and mixed in the rice, not cooked with it. The rice was not fried, it was mostly raw and SATURATED in soy sauce!!! It was inedible, which is upsetting because it's an upcharge for fried rice. My sweet and sour chicken didn't come with any sauce. Like that's the whole meal. So basically, we paid $40+ to have some decent general tsos and chicken nuggets. And then we got hit with a $10+ that no one honestly deserved given how bad our food was.
We will not...
